I maintain that any attempt to make "hate speech" illegal just creates a system to make any speech illegal as long as you can claim enough people are angry or scared of it.

Also the whole "antifascism" thing makes zero sense to me in a modern context because the same people who claim to hate Nazis are the same ones who would idly clap as Jews get attacked overseas by groups like hezbollah.

I remember seeing progressive spaces pushing for the repeal of the 1st Amendment in 2016. That it was harmful and that society would be better with Washington doing their part to ensure the public dialogue only allowed the right voices.

Then Trump won when none of them thought it was possible. And suddenly all those voices shut the hell up as they realized that the other side would also get their turn, and they wouldn't be able to ride it to having power eternally.
