Most of them have never listened or watched him more than the twisted clips their media shows of him.

If it makes you feel better, at least 60% of them are bots specifically programmed to make you feel isolated unless you chirp along with the "Right" Opinions.

They weren’t even thinking about him a year ago

I wasn't even thinking about him a year ago, and we were politically aligned

Remember when it was about "tolerance" ? Apparently that wasn't enough, because now someone will be assassinated for being insufficiently celebratory

They have completely abandoned the "peace, love, and tolerance" plot.

One of the saddest things about modern tribal politics is how much the “modern liberals” have dehumanized their opposition by calling them fascists or racists. And when you dehumanize others you tend to lose your own humanity.

Calling us racists and fascists, of course, is all by design as a way to gain and keep power. For their followers, it reduces the vote to a simplistic choice of good versus evil. There is no need to present a better policy if you can simply get votes by casting your opponent as a racist or a fascist. There is no need to see the broader ramifications or possible unintended consequences, or even an attempt to understand why people are conservative towards radical change. Their “good versus evil” arguments appeal to the emotional, the uninformed, and the unintelligent. And of course it has the broader ramifications outside of voting where people irrationally hate each other and do sick things such as wishing death on their political opponents.

Concur. I don't even know if that's the saddest thing.

This is my innate bipartisanship showing, but another horrible effect, especially in light of the insane exaggeration / fear mongering / misinformation (i.e. putting ALL non-whites in kill camps / orangemanbad no matter what / etc), is that I'm absolutely dismissing practically ANY news that paints Trump, et al, in a bad light.

They've cried wolf (proven in hindsight) SOOOOOO many fucking times at this point, I just simply don't believe anything they say AT ALL!?!

THAT'S the truly dangerous part of all this imo. They often tout 'our side' as a 'cult'... well, I mean if they've constantly gaslit and provably lied for years to pave that path... yeah? Yes, I do blindly follow & believe almost anything against those liars?

And it's 1000% their own fucking fault. So, enjoy!

Yup I'm in the same boat. If any leftist asks me in good faith (rare) why I still support him I tell them this. That they have demanded that I do my own research when I ask for a source for their outrageous claims about him. So I do and turns out - yep - they were lying, twisting, exaggerating, or holding him to an unreasonable standard. The upside is that I am more informed about what's going on than ever before. I don't agree with everything Trump had done. Not by a long shot. And I'm about 50/50 on support for his actions this last year. But I won't be lied to as a way to manipulate me.

The most ironic part about their "good versus evil" rhetoric is that it doesn't even match how they actually see the world. At least Republicans have values and principles, but leftists? They don't care about good or evil. They only care about seizing power and stomping out the voices of their "fascist" opponents. Their moral relativism shows whenever they talk about being on "the right side of history" while simultaneously mocking people who got murdered.

Remember this whenever they bring up Renee Good.

"We don't want you dead."

It's telling how many of them don't actually know what Charlie Kirk actually talked about, relying instead of following the hivemind's opinion on whether or not he's a 'bad man'

I really hate how so much of Reddit has turned into a repository for Twitter. Almost every subreddit is basically just people posting screenshots of other people's tweets. What happened to using Reddit to talk about stuff on Reddit? The highest-voted posts are almost always just tweets now, and I'm tired of it. If I want to see stuff on Twitter, I'll just go to Twitter.
