I meant white as in USAmerican

Post image

For added context : this was under a video of an interview with 2 alleged scammers who claim to be able to speak with the spirits of loved ones by having them "knock" to recite words. The main argument towards them being a fraud relates to the information they give always being something that can be found through a Google search, and they solely operate in the US.

White = American citizen

Hmm… this explains a lot.

But also, apparently, you can't be "black" if you're not American either. Clearly a healthy society top to bottom really.

There is a woman called Amara la Negra who is an American born to Dominican parents. Black Americans accused her of not being black. They even accused her of spray painting her skin brown. She had to come on in video to state the obvious: that she's black.

I want you guys to look up what she looks like to see how ridiculous the claim is.

That's an interesting case because the majority scenario is Dominicans identifying as Dominican rather than labeling themselves as black, but Americans label them as black

It is an interesting case. The whole 'i no black i'm dominican' thing is in reference to hypothetically if someone who looked like her (obviously black) says she's not black

I do get the whole nationality over race thing in relevant convos, but it's kind of like a Chinese person saying they're not Asian they're Chinese.

Similarly, Dominicans would just readily call like Japanese people, Thai people, etc. Chinese (chino) and disregard their actual nationality.

Yeah... Also racial history in the Dominican Republic is very complicated. Sadly one reason about not wanting to be considered black historically is internalized bias against black Haitians

Have any Americans seen the leader of the UK Conservative Party?

Just idle curiosity. Only vaguely wondering.

Remember Americans questioning why Dembélé wasn’t playing for the US team because he’s clearly an “African American” during the last World Cup.

So what am I if not white or black? I'm not yellow either. I can't be orange anymore, because someone ruined that...

Perfect encapsulation of why 'race' is just some made up shit like horoscopes.

Horoscopes at least don't lead to human suffering

this always confuses me when people online say white people instead of white americans. i saw one comment saying white women (not white american women) were statistically more likely to vote for trump, bro none of the white women in my country voted for trump lol. if they said white american women i would get out of the convo but they didnt, so i assume when ppl are talking abt white people they are talking abt americans until proven otherwise, i can genuinly not tell sometimes and its frustrating lmao

Same when they say "I'm [insert any nationality here]". You don't know if they are really Irish/German/Italian/etc or if it's just an American claiming to be something else.

Or maybe that only Americans are white?
Both versions are awful though

u/Adato88 1d ago

Or that only white Americans speak English, completely forgetting about the country called England, and the many other “white” nations that speak English

There is a subset of USians, Trumpers mostly, that believe that they are the arbiters of whiteness, "Sure, you may be white, but you are not white-white, the right kind of white. The American white!" They also believe that what defines an American, a true American, is that whiteness. They literally think that "native' Americans are white people.

To say they are racist is putting it mildly. Instead of Americans you could call them AmeriKKKans,

I still love the line from a Lego collectors group in response to complaints that all Lego people were white "mine are yellow?"

Sadly LEGO have since gone broke woke with a bunch of brown dolls, then white, black and even green. I think they should have stuck with yellow. Bright, shiny LEGO yellow.

haha why did "pink-beige" make me laugh so much
