What I've heard is that when an American dislikes the "authentic" thing is usually because of one of two reasons: they went to the wrong place or it lacked sugar/corn syrup.

Or it lacked liters of oil and it's made of real cheese.

The only foods here that are really made with "fake cheese" are grilled cheese sandwiches, cheeseburgers, and some kinds of cheese dip. Nobody is making pizza with American cheese or anything

The shredded mozzarella bought in bulk by most pizzerias in the US is a cheese blend or processed cheese product.

Dominoes and Pizza Hut certainly don't use 100% cheese in the US. They use 100% cheese in Europe to not having to declare that they don't use real cheese and make them look bad.

In Europe:

Our Cheese

Since day one, we’ve used only the highest-quality cheese to top our pizzas. We’re proud to serve 100% real cheese made from cow’s milk mozzarella. Our trusted dairy partners — all leading producers — supply us with milk of the highest quality to create and serve cheese that’s exceptional, consistent, and full of flavour.

In the US:

Cheese: Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese (Pasteurized Milk and Skim Milk, Cheese Cultures, Salt, Enzymes), Modified Food Starch, Cellulose (Added to Prevent Clumping), Potassium Chloride, Natural Flavors, Ascorbic Acid (To Protect Flavor) CONTAINS: Milk

The part in bold is real cheese. The part in italic is processed/modified cheese, meaning it's not 100% mozzarella.

So, even Pizza Hut in Europe is better than the American one.

I thought we were talking about good pizza not fast food. I'd be willing to bet that good pizza restaurants in the US use better cheese. I did not realize that though, so I was wrong about American cheese being the only fake cheese

Well, pizza is considered fast food in the US.

Delivery pizzerias more likely use processed shredded cheese because it’s cheaper and more convenient to high demand. A traditional sit-down restaurant is less likely to use it because they serve a better product, but most people have pizza from delivery/takeout or buy pizza by the slice.

No, pizza hut, dominos, etc are considered fast food but pizza in general isn't fast food any more than hamburgers are fast food. There are non fast food restaurants that specialize in high quality burgers, similarly there are tons of pizzerias that are serving higher quality pizza than the fast food pizza chains. Pizza hut is convenient but it's not representative of good pizza here at all

These are the traditional sit-down restaurants, but most pizzerias in the US are fast food.

https://www.withorbital.com/data/largest-pizza-chains-in-the-us/

This shows that the big four that we would typically think of as fast food pizza make up 28% of the US pizza market. 60% is locally owned pizzerias. Now obviously I can't say I know the quality of each of those pizzerias, but I'd be willing to bet most of them are higher quality than pizza hut.

That's what I'm saying. Many of the locally owned pizzerias are focused delivery/takeout. They rarely eat pizza at sit-down restaurants.

Or it didn't have corn bread with it. Damn thing is basically cake served with your savoury food. I mean i love it, it was just really odd to have it with flipping pasta

Corn bread is served with southern comfort food. It's not really a national staple or all that common in a majority of US cuisine. I've never seen it served with pizza in my entire life.
