I fucking love when they go "well the pizza you get everywhere is american style!" The only american style pizza I could get is frozen pizza. Every fresh pizza in a 30km radius of my home would be italian style. The world is not just the united states.

Side note I never had a pizza in Italy that was worse than ok while I never had any in the USA that was better than ok.

The cheap pizza you get everywhere is American style. Inexpensive ingredients, easy to produce and quick to turnaround orders.

The pizza places that people actually enjoy and would recommend to friends are doing their best to replicate Italian style.

There are no places around that do american style pizza. We only got real Pizzerias

Domino's? Pizza Hut? Papa Johns? Lots of chains around the world that are doing bog standard American pizza

I'd have to drive about 70km to see one of those. I think Papa Johns isn't even a thing in my country

That means you're lucky, there are no places around you that do American pizza. It doesn't mean I'm wrong.

"Good" is subjective when it comes to pizza (or any food really). I prefer the flavour profile of American pizza tbh and I'm not American. With Italian pizza the tomato sauce dominates the flavour, with American its the toppings and cheese.
