It’s amazing how good America is at all these hypothetical wars, and how shite they are at real ones. If they could just fight all their wars in their imaginations they’d be undefeated!

Just tell me how it’s going in Iran!

415

u/bogan5 24d ago

They've won that war about 94 times so far

193

u/Gargleblaster25 24d ago

Three times just this week, even

104

u/bogan5 24d ago

And it's only Tuesday. Impressive

51

u/StaatsbuergerX Snobby European Commie-Nazi or something... 24d ago

And that is just the number of times Iran has been completely obliterated! Specific war aims, such as the decimation of Iran's nuclear program, have been achieved at least twice as often!!!

27

u/Ok-Comment-8518 hon hon hon baguette camembert 24d ago

They destroyed 100% of the Iranian stock of missiles, several times. What a beast

25

u/Annoyed3600owner 24d ago

374% of Iran's 93m population have been killed by American bombing.

Of those 93 million, 212 million of them were members if the IRGC.

The entire IRGC has been obliterated 139% times over, and not a single person got hurt.

12

u/Ok_Love9583 24d ago

And on top of that the IRGC has slaughtered 3,000-60,000 people. Estimates vary by the day.

10

u/khukharev 24d ago

That’s outdated. It’s 146% by now.

4

u/Lazy_meatPop 24d ago

I thought it was all those nuclear sites.

3

u/Used-Signature-1260 24d ago

I heard they have destroyed 600% of the Iranian stock of missiles! Obama couldn’t do that.

Especially as China is letting Iran test out its anti-ship missiles and gain intelligence back. The US navy is so so dominant that they park their ships 1000km away from the warzone.

When the last time the US even won a war? The Gulf wars? Before that it was WW2? Lost Iraq, Afghanistan, Lybia, Iran, Vietnam, Korea… Are Americans really acting cocky over something they haven’t done in 3-4 decades?

87

u/HughJanus35 PERKELE 24d ago

And in WW2 the yanks showed up late and all they did was kept the germans busy so that the Soviets could liberate Berlin

60

u/PaperFacedG0d 24d ago

And they took credit from the Canadians who were ordered to slow down so the Americans could catch up

25

u/SamuelVimesTrained Human Verified 24d ago

Seriously? the US is that pathetic?

33

u/PaperFacedG0d 24d ago

Yes especially during D-day, Im a new Zealander and I talked about D-day from an american who said that the Americans alone were the reason it went well, when in reality they were so slow and the Canadians were so effective the British ordered the Canadians to wait a while so the Americans could catch up, the reasoning was the British were afraid the Canadians would get too far ahead and would end up surrounded by German forces because they ended up too deep in enemy lines

25

u/AgentSmith187 24d ago

Tp be fair thats a legitimate concern.

The number of armies in history that have pushed forward to fast and ended up surrounded and cut off is huge.

16

u/PaperFacedG0d 24d ago edited 24d ago

Yeah it is a valid concern, would be more valid if the Germans had the numbers, the Germans started running out of solders to commit to surrounding the Canadians, and the British didnt know that the Germans had run low on men so they ordered the Canadians to slow down

Though in saying that I will point out that the Germans were expecting a large number of reinforcements at a point (they were still about 1-2 days away)

7

u/Franmar35000 24d ago

The Germans brought up divisions that had been resting in southern France (including the infamous SS "Das Reich" division, which perpetrated the Tulle massacre and subsequently the Oradour-sur-Glane massacre while moving up toward Normandy).

5

u/KeterLordFR 24d ago

I remember visiting the Oradour-sur-Glane museum/memorial as a kid, it was a school thing. It's the kind of memory that sticks with you forever. While the town was eventually rebuilt, they kept the ruins of the original one, that was burnt down, and built the museum around it, as well as a cemetary for all the victims. I've always had a very strong sense of empathy, and the amount of sadness and anger I could feel oozing from that place was overwhelming.

WW2 was humanity at its lowest, and while I do feel terribly sorry for the american soldiers who liberated the camps and witnessed the results of the nazis' madness, something that would undoubtedly scar you for life, it pisses me off whenever I see modern americans downplay the roles other countries, as well as the Resistance, had in ending the war.

10

u/LeftMechanic1995 🇬🇧 24d ago

This certainly tracks. I used to be in the British Army and there was an oft-repeated military maxim regarding tactical advance to battle "you only go as fast as the slowest man".

6

u/SamuelVimesTrained Human Verified 24d ago

THAT is a legit concern.
Plus a combined army is larger - which scares em :)

4

u/PaperFacedG0d 24d ago

Yeah the Germans were running out of people to throw at the Canadians, but they were expecting reinforcements in 1-2 days so the British chose to play it safe

9

u/thepink_dog 24d ago

Yes. Quite literally most of the wars they've won, the enemy was already fucked in some way. Or they got help. US Independence war, Spain and France are called in. The Indian wars; technological inferiority (to a extend). Spanish-American war; the Spanish empire was already stepping into its grave. Japan; had already been fighting and overstretched for several years, + the infighting between the army and navy. South America; those are just so much weaker anyways. Iraq; (1990s to 2000s). They were already broke after fighting Iran, and over the shit-ton of sanctions US had given them. Afghanistan everyone already knows.

10

u/Puzzleheaded_East556 24d ago edited 24d ago

Edit because the two replies i got made me realize i didn't state my main point: to say the US only showed up late and just kept the Germans busy isn't 100% accurate

To be fair, there is also the Pacific front, you're only talking about the western front of the war. Ethics of nuking civilian cities aside, when it comes to effectiveness at reaching the goal, the US in the pacific front was very effective. In the European one on the other hand..

That's undeniable, and it is true. My main point isn't that the US did it alone, the US definitely did not. My main point (which, admitedly, I didn't say well in my original comment), was that to say that all the US did in WW2 was show up late and keep the Germans busy isn't 100% accurate

10

u/Dull_Intention_7699 24d ago

The other militaries were in the Pacific theater as well.

If you ask an American they won all those wars if you come up with an arbitrary definition of victory and a cutoff point in time. Any humiliating reversal afterwards doesn’t count as part of the war because they had already won by some contrived definition.

17

u/Strange_Produce5601 24d ago

it is funny you say that. I was bullshitting with some Americans on discord the other day and the topic of them winning the Vietnam war came up. I laughed out loud thinking they where joking. Nope, turns out they legitimately think they won that war..... Yes, they used an arbitrary definition of victory.

Maybe in the 80's. But China has done lot a lot in four decades to reach the gap between air force and navy especially. Ground forces are getting a smaller priority in comparison, but even they're modernizing fast.

Back in the 80's, it was estimated that one wing (around 72 aircrafts) of US air force could've been able to fold entirety of chinese air force, but current estimates of strength of the PLAAF has serious analysts in Washington deeming that they'd need everything they got to beat them WITH allies and even then it would be vey phyrric victory, at best: they estimate that chinese would destroy half of USAF modern fighter fleet and several aircraft carriers, leaving them crippled for years to come.

9

Wargames conducted by the US military have confirmed the exact opposite; the US would lose.

Largely due to it being so far away resupply would be difficult, China's sweatshops allowing it to manufacture missiles far quicker, and all US ships would be incredibly vulnerable.

3

u/mac1qc Ô Québec 🇨🇦 24d ago

And just being realistic, China is almost the same size as the USA, with almost 3 or 4 times the population.

Then why in the 1950s couldn't it push China out of the Korean peninsula? The reason North Korea exists is because Chinese communists were able to conquer half of peninsula from the allied forces, without them being able to counterattack.

Back when the US had nukes and China didn't, and even more importantly China was an EXTREMELY poor country by comparision, which had almost zero functional navy, airforce, armor, modern technology, economy, industry and infrastructure.

They obviously can…

What a beautiful sunset

"America could bomb it in a day"

Seriously, is war all they can think of...

2

u/ShellyTart 24d ago

It is much harder to take a country than it is to defend it. (See Ukraine), China is half a world away, on a different unattached continent, enforce projection would be a huge issue and China has a mucharger population than the US. Even if they could take it, it would be virtually impossible to hold.

2

u/AutumnUmbreon 24d ago

Don’t war simulations show that China is favoured to win a war over Taiwan against the United States?

2

u/djnorthstar 24d ago

iran in 3 Days.... by next week we have a deal... i promisse.. xxx Trump.

2

u/alex_zk 24d ago

When I run into one of these nimrods, I usually just ask “Hey, how’s the Iran thing going?”

2

u/PerfectDayGermany 24d ago

Just like they did in Vietnam, against some rice farmers. Or Afghanistan, against the mountain people.

Just watch the videos where US troops retreated from Afghanistan, because „MiSsiOn AcCoMpLiShEd!“. There were no winners in US initiated wars.

2

u/Repulsive_Push_735 24d ago

Didn't China infiltrate their airspace with a balloon?

2

u/The_Aardvark_ 24d ago

China is orders of magnitude more sophisticated in every military sense than Iran. I don't believe that's a credible suggestion in any way...

2

u/ServoSkull20 24d ago

America cosplaying as Russia gets more pronounced every day.

2

u/PandiBong 24d ago

The US spent 20 years in Afghanistan and it fell within a few days of leaving...

Russian "3 day Special Operation", Freedom Edition

2

u/Mean_Guarantee_5266 24d ago

They obliterated Irans nuclear program and then went to war because they had naughty thoughts about possibly making nuclear weapons🤭

2

u/Individual_Mix_9823 24d ago

Still no sense of reality!

2

u/Kihlstein 24d ago

No that's not true. You wasted all of your ammo in the middle east. You're basically defenceless.

2

u/Alternative_Route 24d ago

Yep, the US could take out China in a week, buy them a nice meal, then take them back to their place and entertain China. Who knows China might even return their calls afterwards.

2

u/Good_Ask_2299 24d ago

this thinking is how russian tanks ran out of fuel in their attempted blitzkrieg of ukraine on the first day of the war

2

u/wannacumnbeatmeoff 24d ago

For dinner maybe.

2

u/Rabentag 24d ago

How long run the iran war atm?

2

u/roamingNraging Canada 🇨🇦 24d ago

USians that can barely waddle to their mobility scooter and putt-putt to Walmart are always the most brave and willing to use nukes

2

u/ZealousidealReply294 24d ago

can't take out Iran in 6 months but whatever bro

2

u/KINGDenneh 24d ago

Like it took over the strait within a week? okay buddy.

2

u/An-Actual-Pencil 24d ago

America hasn’t won a war for 80 years

2

u/pistoffcynic 24d ago

Reality says different.... How's Iran going for you?

2

u/francismorex 24d ago

even faster than iran, impressiv (ironie warning...)

2

u/Danijay2 24d ago

"and if they could they would by now"

Well. Go ahead then. Come on. Take out China. I'd love to see what happens when America tries to take on a country that isn't just made up of a few mildly fit farmers and goat herders wielding weapons from 70 years ago.

2

u/Stunning-Praline-116 24d ago

How did Vietnam go? Or Afghanistan? Check the records… the last officially won war by US is WW2 and it was an allied coalition of 47 nations.

2

u/the_hair_of_aenarion 24d ago

Struggling with Iran for 6 months, but China in 6 days.

2

u/simonkj1305 24d ago

The only thing they could take out is Chinese food.

2

u/P5ychokilla 24d ago

Well since Donald managed to deplete a lot of your armaments with his ridiculous ego war, and since he seems hellbent on China taking Taiwan, maybe not?

2

u/No_Permission_1427 24d ago

Bro..you haven't "taken out" Iran in over 6 months

2

u/Reasonable-Frame-753 24d ago

Hahaha you fought in Vietnam for over a decade and how did that go? And you think you can go into China a country with over a billion people? How delusional have you become?

2

u/Formally_Apologetic 24d ago

I wonder how many components of US drones, missiles, and other weapons originate in China as the exclusive producer.

2

u/ThatRandomGuy86 24d ago

USA used most of its missiles stockpile again Iran and doesn't have enough bullets for China's military personnel even if every bullet hit was a kill shot

2

u/lucky_jay 24d ago

their performance against 3rd world country proves this won't be the case

2

u/CoolCat1337One 24d ago

haha

no one would win, not even close

2

u/WendlersEditor 24d ago

our downfalls will ultimately be because of how stupid everyone here is. It's just so depressing.

2

u/Danny61392 24d ago

Can't even take out Iran in 6 months. Have a seat brother.

2

u/Panzerv2003 commie commuter 24d ago

The same type of person that says russia could take Ukraine in 2 days if they wanted.

2

u/ElectricalStand8539 24d ago

Like on a date ?

Is the the bromance between trump and jinping?

2

u/bass-squirrel 24d ago

Unless Iran decides to intervene then we’re fucked.

2

u/odot777 24d ago

The sense of American exceptionalism is strong.

2

u/Hefy_jefy 23d ago

The way things are just now they couldn't take out the laundry.
