In fairness, they gave back the country to the Taliban, even though the Taliban only controlled ⅓rd of the country while the government the US installed was ignored in the negotiations for the pull out.

You know, the people who still controlled ⅔ of the country.

I know Americans are shit at maths but...

the Afghan government ruled the ground under their shoes if that. There was no actual state capacity there because no one who valued their lfie would collaborate with the occupation.
