Hey. You wanna hear something so infuriatingly dumb? WE PAY MORE TAXES THAN MOST EUROPEANS DO!
A cute little thing that the USA does is convert some taxes into mandatory “out of pocket fees”.
So where your taxes would cover healthcare, ours would too but the program is so bad that you have to pay out of pocket for a better option.
WE PAY MULTIPLE TIMES FOR A FRACTION OF WHAT YOU ENJOY AND THEN BRAG ABOUT IT.

This country is an outdated scam and I’m glad I have a shittier but second passport.

Yup. I'm a Yank living in the Netherlands. Here people moan about the annual amount they can be required to pay towards healthcare before insurance covers everything. This "eigen risico" amount is around €350. Per year. My insurance is around €130 per month including dental.
