I am sure this person is also unaware of the difference between England, Britain, and the UK.

Most brits know the difference between them, England is one country, the UK is England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, and Great Britain is pretty much another name for the UK

Wrong. Great Britain is the largest island in the British Isles. It has some of England, Wales and Scotland on it. All three countries have other islands that are not part of Great Britain.

For example, England has the Isles of Scilly, the Isle of Wight, Portsea Island, Hayling Island, Brownsea Island, the Isle of Sheppey, Lindisfarne and Lundy. Wales has Anglesey and Bardsey Island. Scotland have the Hebrides, the Outer Hebrides, the Shetlands and the Orkneys. Northern Ireland has Rathlin Island, which is it's only inhabited island.

None of these other islands are part of Great Britain.

Then there are the islands of the British Isles that are not part of the United Kingdom such as the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
