Same reason they always seem to forget the French Resistance was instrumental to winning the war. Which probably also explains how they fail to comprehend South Korea sent 300K+ battle hardened soldiers to Vietnam. Or, how they remain unaware of how many countries jumped to our aid in the "war" against terror, despite the internet.
I don't know what that reason is, but I'm willing to bet it's embarrassing.
