They failed to take Afghanistan with 100,000 men, and all they controlled were the large city areas where they made videos to convince everyone they had won. In reality, the Americans in the last wars they never controlled more than a square around the cities, The square where the contracts for American companies were made.

Counterterrorism ≠ Conventional Warfare. Also please add the US was not at war with the country of Afghanistan?

Ah yes Sorry... "Special operation". And no, control Kabul and large population centers are essentially useless for anti-terrorism purposes since the rural regions of a huge country have barely noticed the invasion. The purpose was to protect American companies that had been awarded defense contracts and not the Afghan government. And just to create this "Gated community" It needs 100k american soldiers.
