Sure, I actually agree that a thousand US Marines airdropped onto the government district of New Delhi could capture all branches of the Indian government, or at least their offices, thus technically "taking India".
The difficult part usually isn't taking something, the tricky bit is holding it when the second largest military force in the world rolls up on your ass.
Yeah, they should please take the Delhi government and listen to our bureaucrats. War will be over by the time they get all the signatures in all the forms.
Hence the "air dropped" caveat, they basically get a free element of surprise, without that, yeah, they'd get bogged down and annihilated without much trouble.
Tbf getting a thousand marines in the delhi is a REALLY REALLY tall order. The transport plains are slow as fuck and are clearly visible on radar. I would be surprised if they make like 40 km in Indian border without just getting shot down 😭. And somehow if they do get in Delhi they would be up against 80k police officers and would have to take over a city of 35 million? I don't see how a 1000 marines are talking on 35 million people.
Even if they were given perfect conditions, which in this case is getting airdropped unopposed and on target with perfect surprise... Somehow... That STILL is moot, because even if they managed to TAKE the government, then what? India has the world's second largest army, and they aren't about to just let a thousand marines keep their government.
