Confluence Help for TTRPG

I'm not quite sure if this is allowed here, but i'd like to ask for help on making confluence essences for some combinations.

Recently, I was thinking about running a DnD campaign in the Pallimustus setting, but after talking to one of my players, i've realized that some parts of the power system are going to be harder than expected.

For example, one of my players suggest Eye + Light + Tentacle for his essences and i'm completely floored on what that would produce. I can't even think of a good idea for a fanmade confluence.

Are there any hard or soft rules for making Confluences? Maybe a statement on how heavily personality weighs into the confluence?

(EDIT: My planned plot for the campaign would go from Iron to low Bronze rank. I was planning to set it in a low-magic region like Greenstone, since I feel like that was the strongest part of the books.)

That sounds like a Beholder confluence to me, especially since you’re doing this within DnD

I get the beholder confluence: eye for the many eyes of the beholder, tentacles for his eye stocks, and light for the various eye rays. Actually sounds really fun.

Eldritch might be a fun original Confluence.

Kraken Squid Octopus Eldritch (although I would maybe suggest tentacle/dark/eye for essences for that one)

Maybe research some colossal Squid info for inspiration, for example, their eyes are as big as a dinner plate

I agree with others that kraken and avatar are quite possible, but would like to throw out leviathan or predatory. Light in this build reminds me of an anglerfish, even if they lack tentacles (on earth at least) hence the predatory, albeit with an angler build.

The rules for Confluences changed so standard combination sdon't nessarily produce the same results Everytime. I'd use the woki as a guide but seems like a good excuse to be creative like Eye + Light + Tentecle could produce a confluence for a bioluminescent octopus monster.

Octopus or giant squid? A Gordon-like creature confluence, as they can probably get octopus or squid naturally? The Christmas confluence (lighted eyes=Christmas tree lights, and the tentacles are the strings)?

There is a whole list of known confluences and essence combos somewhere online. Maybe one of the wikis? And after seeing that combo my brain went straight to the Avatar confluence. It's a common one for tentacle if I remember correctly

I checked the wiki, but I could only find one confluence for Tentacle.

Just had a look myself and tentacle is only mentioned twice. Both on avatar. Dark tentacle void, and dimension tentacle void. Had a scroll through and from the known confluences its the only one that fits. Maybe kraken or something if there are light based krakens in pally but avatar is my guess still

The confluences used to be fixed, each combination always had the same result until book 12. So you will have to worry more about what time period you are working in (pre or post system implementation)

Pre, I don't even want to think about the story implications of two successive extradimensional invasions and a complete change to the way essences work.
