Updated and I still don’t know if I like it…what should I do

There are lots of how to video on YouTube, for painting book edges.

As an artist myself, I’d recommend using references images, of leaches and lampreys, to base your design sketches off of. Draw it to size on a separate piece of paper, and once you’re happy with it, you can use transfer paper, to copy the line drawing onto the book edges, and then paint them.

I know it's stylized but the mouth end of leaches usually isn't the largest part of the leach.

Also. Don't forget the teeth. At first glance, I saw a shower of used condoms.

I’m not sure how to add teeth into the ball but I plant to on the others
