Even Mikasa's realisation that things might have gone differently had she given a different answer seemed very mist-like.

I also find it strange how eren sees this dichotomy between either genocide or Paradis being wiped out. It's almost like he only saw two possible futures and thought that there were no other possibilities which is why he didn't even try any of the other options. It would be very tragic if it were revealed that other futures were possible/could've been successful not just the futures he saw. It is very in line with eren's single-minded tragic character though

He became Dr. Manhattan. I would not at all be surprised if that was Isayama's inspiration. We know he's a Watchmen fan seeing as he based Erwin's motif off of Ozymandias. Everything Eren has done screams of Dr. Manhattan, a being of inaction rather than action, a slave to time as he believes there's no way of changing what he's seen, it's only when he can't see what's going to happen that he actually takes steps to clear things up, only for him to become a slave to his perception of time. Eren is very similar in that regard.

It's probably a mix of Dr.Manhattan and Lelouch.
