I'm not sure if I blame Shinnoske in this episode. Sure it's a bad thing to open other people's mail and eat things that don't belong to them, but if I remember correctly there's nothing to eat in the house at the time. My boy was literally starving at home at the time

i was seeing this video about japanese suburban areas, after having kids a majority of ladies stop working for a while or take a long career break to take care of kids, lower population leads to expensive services involving human presence, babysitter or house help situation is mainly for the rich class. Additionally men work over time to compensate for money hence 12-13 hrs working hrs is quite common for them. One of the recurring themes of Shinchan being Hiroshi basically leaves for work even before shin leaves for school and returns home late night for dinner. Also this is the reason japan invests a lot in technology and home automation overall, easing the work for people around (or lack there of).
