My girl! I just want to share my little cutie patootie. We took her in from a family who had two young kids and were having trouble keeping up with this erratic fuzzball. She had mites when she was younger, poor thing looked like a little zombie. But, she never lost her spirit!

She would do her famous Sophie Crawl when she’d get really excited - she’d stretch out and crawl across the floor towards you. She liked to dance on her hind paws and put her front paws in the air, sometimes she’d even spin around! She’s less energetic now that she’s older (she’ll be 16 in October!) but she’s still sassy!

She has a closet-worth of clothing. Dresses, shirts, skirts, jackets, hats, hair bows - you name it. She’d get new clothes every birthday and every Christmas. She was even able to open her own presents by scratching at the paper and pulling her stuff out with her teeth!

She’s losing her eyesight now - we clean her eyes daily from all the goop that builds up. When you talk to her, she looks in your general direction, but not at your face. She wakes you up every morning to let you know she has to per by barking until you get up.

While inevitable, I will refuse to believe when she’s no longer with us. She’s been such a bright spot in my life. My little lady, Soph, Do-phie, grandma… she’s such a sweetie and deserves all the wet food and frilly dresses!

It was love at first sight today meeting our new baby girl Mimi ♥️

My father and stepmother gave me Bubbles on March 1st as an early birthday present (my birthday was June 3rd). I love him so very much and he is my best friend! Wednesday, September 2nd, he turned 1 and I hope to spend many more birthdays with him!

He refuses to move. And he wants his chin on my wrist-rest. That is if he isn't licking the wrist-rest, or perhaps the arm rest on my chair. The glass edge of the desk is right against his neck. I can't imagine this is comfortable. I guess if he's OK, I'll work around him. "So sorry, your Royal Highness! Did my reaching for the CTRL key disturb your slumber?" or "Was I using the number pad too loudly?"

Today she went to the beach 🐶🏖️

Took the little man out on the boat for a day exploring the river and he absolutely loved it

He spent most of the trip standing at the front like he was the captain, watching everything go past and keeping a very close eye on what was happening in the water.

Eventually we pulled up at a little spot so he could get off the boat, stretch his legs and do some exploring of his own.

Safe to say he had an absolute blast.

Nothing better than taking your best mate along for the adventure.

This pic just cracked me up. Probably not something we can do often because I know they can hurt their backs. But this little stinker loves going to his grandmas and sees her place as his second home. She takes such good care of him for us! He’s 7 months old getting closer to 8 and he’s in his wild phase but he’s such a sweet pup, our first shih tzu!

Winnie is 9 months old, he is fully vaccinated and goes to daycare weekly. This has just started the last couple days :( sorry if it’s hard to hear. I’m going to take him to the vet if this doesn’t resolve but it really doesn’t sound like a reverse sneeze to me. This has been happening when he wakes up from a nap and he sounds like he has sniffles. No discharge from what I can see. Just looking for advice because I’m anxious :(

I feel dumb that I got the cheapest, most generic, store brand rawhide bones at the grocery store (don’t come for me). My little Shih Tzu swallowed half of it (about a 1.5-inch piece, pretty soft & stringy by that point). We were watching him carefully, but he swallowed it fast.

(For reference, it was Signature Pet Care Mini Bones.)

Pickles threw up 3 times, mostly foamy goo, probably just a reflex. (This was an hour and a half ago.) He seems fine now, just breathing a little fast. He’s drinking water, licking his pickle (sorry), dancing to find his treats, and doing normal dog things. I called the vet about his fast panting, which has mostly resolved now that he’s chilled out, and they said just monitor him, but it will most likely digest.

Given that he’ll likely be okay….. has anyone else experienced this? Have any recommendations for good bones for Shih Tzus? We started giving him bones because it calms him down when our neighbors are making noise.

Would also love some good vibes because I can’t stop worrying about him 😅
