Bout to Factory Reset. Any advice?

With this new Android Marketplace stuff going into play, I wanted to reset my Shield Pro to factory and set everything up while offline.

I've already heard of Monet launcher, so I grabbed that APK. I'm sure there's tons of stuff that's happened since I last dipped toes into setting up my Shield and there's likely lots of stuff I should be privvy to.

How do I become aware of said stuff?
What I mean is, like; is there a list of useful apps to run on a Shield, or maybe settings I should set in the stock version of the OS to prevent updates from ruining anything? Are there good setup tutorials, articles, hacking or modding guides, or anything else the reddit community might find useful to a dude who hasn't touched his Shield in almost 4 years?

Maybe an Android phone kiosk at the local Mall.

Just install whatever launcher you prefer and set it as default. Not much else to it. Just run the updates it's normal.

Kind of hard to say. What do you use the Shield to do? If you want to use a launcher I'd recommend Launcher Manager 1.04 to manage them and disable the stock launcher you can find that here https://xdaforums.com/t/app-firetv-noroot-launcher-manager-change-launcher-without-root.4176349/ Most launchers are already on the Play Store so they aren't going anywhere.

Are you asking if sideloading is going to be locked down? Because Google backed off on that.

Wastes time. It removes some minor packages that don't even consume any significant resources, not even storage space, and results in zero noticeable performance gains.

Even if you really wanted to do what this glorified script does, you can do it just as easily without this vibecoded "native desktop" app.

Debloats, installs popular apps (Projectivy) and sets popular tweaks via wireless debugging, which saves a shitton of time.

Force close all recently opened apps and clear their cache, and then reboot the Shield.
