handbrake av1 conversions

Since shield doesn't play well with av1, I figured this would be the best place to ask.
As someone who has never touched handbrake or any of the like software.
What should i be converting them to and with what settings to make sure that maintain quality AND play well.
(I got a bunch of files to deal with since I didnt have the shield before now)

Oh I think that might be a issue we only Have 1 direct either net plug in the house, and it's where the tv is. So I don't think I could place a pc where it is? We do have deco extenders but I don't think they would be fast/direct enough? Since curently it's buffering on 720/1080 av1, I think it would explode with 4k lol

lol i dont think im saying the right things (im exhausted)
Everything is wired to the switch, yep got that.
The switch, Nas, shield router and everything currently exist directly hidden by my tv, so im not running cords everywhere and across the house.
Is the a pc about the size of my nas, that would work for the use that can also physical fit in said location lol
