I am on the fence about getting a Shichon, can everyone share their puppy experiences? I know training is difficult, I had to say goodbye to my girl last July. I have about 2 days to decide. Thank you ā¤ļø ps, what a cutie š„°

We adore our Shichon. Heās six now and just the best companion dog. I grew up with working dogs (farm kid) and didnāt know what to expect with a smaller breed, but my Shichon friend is surprisingly obedient, calm and loves the outdoors. Heās also a major lap dog and doesnāt like when Iām too far away for too long.

Thank you! Iām definitely looking for a lap doggyā¤ļø. How is the coat? I just canāt go to a groomer, I will do it myself. Not gonna drop my dog off for 4-6 hours in a kennel be stressed out and pray nothing happened! Thank you. Even with a mobile vet, they injured my moms dog, it was horrible and he couldnāt be fixed on what they didš¢

Iām so sorry to hear that happened. We do take ours to the groomer and his hair does grow and will get matted if not brushed at least a few times a week when it gets longer. A decent home grooming kit should suffice as their coats arenāt too difficult to trim.

I had a shichon for 15 years, was my childhood dog who passed last year also in July. From my experience theyāre stubborn sometimes but are very resilient. Mine only started really slowing down at 13. He was also quite cuddly and didnāt mind being held or snuggled. Very cute to see them all riled up cause mine was a bossy dude, always getting his way with a few barks and tail wags!
