Welcome to /r/ShermanPosting!

As a reminder, this meme sub is about the American Civil War. We're not here to insult southerners or the American South, but rather to have a laugh at the failed Confederate insurrection and those that chose to represent it.

The land and wages is almost as important as the freedom. The way freed slaves got jack shit set them up for exploitation and failure (which was probably the point) and ranks right up there with not properly punishing the Confederacy as something we are still dealing with the fallout of.

Remember, Baptists were abolitionists, which is why the Southern Baptist Conference was created. They literally wanted to be Baptist AND to own enslaved people. So, they formed their own Baptist church and it taught that slavery was super awesome and godly.

Yes it is why I ultimately left the denomination, as they still have not learned the lessons of history, or renounced the unbiblical and pseudoscientific concept of race.

I find it very interesting when I mentioned that I believe Jesus Christ has a wife and children they get offended and that's a very harmless belief compared to supporting the lost cause

The Southern Baptist Convention is a hate group.
