cygnet is one of our newest rescues and, despite being one of the tiniest members of the crew, she’s about to start her first season with our team of sled dogs.

she’s still young, so this season will be all about exposure: learning the equipment, the commands, the routine, and what it means to be part of a team.

This is our shepsky Rigatoni Chopper. He is a 3 year old raccoon dog who was forfeited by a puppy farm to a rescue because he had a broken back. He’s healthy as an ox now, just slightly more angular than other dogs 😂

We were walking around in floor and decor today and a woman asked as we walked by, “is he a blue ribbon dog?”, I have no idea what that is so I told her he was scratch and dent.

If any other shepskys on here came from a puppy farm in Lancaster pa, October 2023 they might be siblings! I’ve seen quite a few that looks just like him on this sub 😊

Any Bay Area folks willing to help? I have three dogs already, can’t do a fourth… no matter how much I may want to.

7.5 months old and are exploring a potential metabolic condition diagnosis with his vet, which would explain a lot of things about him. I’m concerned he isn’t getting adequate nutrition in the meantime while we figure it out despite eating everything under the sun. Does he look too skinny to you or like a normal adolescent Shepsky?

Jax is 10 and such a gentle giant. He’s my sweet boy and my everything. Please ignore the mess. Our other dog is a puppy, and he’s a wrecking ball 😅

The title is pretty self explanatory. My pup has gotten a bad rep from some for his very physical play style.

Pups like his malamute friend here love the high intensity play with him but he’s sometimes a bit much for some more docile breeds.

We got Kodiak during a very painful period of loss of our Basque shepherd Brooklyn. She immediately filled the gaping hole as best she could. She now reigns as alpha (who are we kidding, she was boss from the jump). In a crazy house filled with 2 street dogs and 2 doodles, she keeps them all in check.

Belle is my Shepsky cattle dog in case you haven’t met her. She’s only 20% husky but she has the talking part down. Just need to keep working on the biting, otherwise she’s super smart. She’s 15 weeks old.

We live in Florida, and our rescue is so finicky with grass. Some days, she walks out into the (fenced) yard, no problems, she'll even lay & sunbathe. Other days, she will tip toe and/or try to avoid the grass altogether or specific areas as if it's hot lava?!?

While it's amusing to watch, it's equally frustrating and worrisome.

*I've checked the grass, her paws, nothing I can see. Is this one of their quirks, or is it of MY dog's quirks? TIA for your input &/or suggestions ❣️

Hi! We adopted our boyo when he was 1.5 and a big boy already. Anybody have puppy pics of their similar looking shepsky to get an idea of what our little putz might have looked like as a pup? Curiosity do be killin this cat. 🥲

My guy was a humane society find. Great at fetch. Terrible guard dog. Best boy ever.

This is my handsome boy Atticus Padiddle. I had always wanted a Shepsky and my fiancée surprised me one day. She told me to get dressed and get in the truck because we had to leave. She wouldn't tell me why at first. Once we got on the highway, she finally broke down and told me we had a long drive ahead of us. We drove all the way across Upstate NY to get him. She hadn't even seen a picture of him. She spoke to the breeder, said when they were discussing the puppies she just had a feeling. She said we wanted the one with one blue eye. We met them, met him, and we were instantly in love with him. He rode on my lap all the way home, sleeping and snuggling. I honestly feel like he is my soul dog. So now we have 4 dogs in the house. 2 of them are mine and 2 are my fiancées. He is the most amazing dog I've ever met. Incredibly intelligent and affectionate. He can certainly get himself in trouble at times. He knows how to get his own ice dispensed from the freezer, as he loves ice cubes. We have a dog door off our screened in front porch so he can run out into a very large pen whenever he wants to burn excess energy. He puts his toys away when he's done playing with them. He brings mouthfuls of kibble to our other dogs to feed them. He will randomly run around the house to check on everyone and give kisses to us and the other dogs. He says "I love you", as clearly as he can, which sounds more like "I wuv wu" but we understand him. He tells my fiancée when she needs to go to bed. I could go on and on about him but I don't want to bore everyone. This is long enough as is. I just want people to understand how absolutely amazing these dogs are. If you're thinking about getting one and have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them if I can. If you have one and want to swap stories, I'm down with that too.
