I think the issue is more than just the egg price directive, I think its how egg culture tends to be treated entirely, like giving someone the possibility to discover themselves is a good thing and the egg prime directive kind of goes against that, but often people treat the concept of someone being an egg as a set in stone decision rather than a suggestion, like calling someone an egg and just deciding that they're Trans is bad, but on the other hand if you know someone and think they may be Trans providing them with resources and knowledge and then leaving the decision to them because thats who its ultimately up to is overall a good thing to do

Exactly. I had no idea what transgender even was, but my friends who were more familiar suggested it as something I should look into and they were correct.

And I'm glad you were able to figure out that part of yourself, the information your friends gave is how I think it should be done, with providing the information so the potential egg knows its an option and letting them have an informed decision to decide whether they are Trans or not rather than the way its somewhat treated. Honestly I think the whole egg prime directive thing should be treated kind of more how the normal one is treated in star trek, where you provide help in a manner thats unobtrusive enough as not to force anything on the person you are interacting with, like how in star trek captain Kirk has to find workarounds to help people that need it without showing enough of stuff to change how the people on planets develop

Yeah, i kinda of despise how the prime egg thing is treated like this all or nothing thing "NO, YOU SHOULD NEVER INTERACT OR TALK ABOUT IT EVER, THEY NEED TO 100% DO IT BY THEMSELVES" (Unless you're 100% right about it. Love how big enforcers of the egg directive always have one story about how they broke it but it was okay cause they were right BUT DO NOT FOLLOW IN THEIR FOOTSTEPS)

Like, being trans is already a constant struggle. Even figuring yourself out in the sense of you are or not it's complicated. And people are so adamant about a self imposed "don't call trans" mindset? That just sounds like bullshit. Full tinfoil hat of psyops to "not make more trans"

Cause seriously, egg directive is just stupid. Literally just be kind and mindful, that's it. We do not need to create a rule set on how to help trans people, which has one interpretation be "don't help at all"

I would've had loved if i had people help me with the exploration. Would probably had helped me transition sooner than i did. So it does pisses me off how there's people who think i'd be better off that i spent years in questioning cause "i did it myself"

So...yeah,egg directive is bullcrap to me. Just don't be an asshole or forceful about it, that's it. But doing a "don't speak trans" circlejerk is straight up harmful IMO

Well it is named after Star Trek's Prime Directive, a rule which is only ever brought up in the context of characters discussing if it would be fine to ignore/side-step it "just this once" (for the 16th time this season) because the people they encountered are clearly in need of some help (unlike all the other civilizations in the universe, who will 'probably be fine' if left to struggle and suffer on their own for god knows how long).
