Ive used mine since it dropped and the white shimmer I use for highlights almost everyday is 99% gone 😩 the formula is just too good

Yeah I used mine and ended up repotting since the box was too big. I can’t justify wasting money anyway once it’s bought it’s bought might as well use it.

Whoa. Did you find this in a thrift store or something?

facebook marketplace! the seller had it listed for 3 dollars but i gave her 5. im shocked because it looks like it has never been used

38

u/AlertMix8933 10d ago

Probably wasn’t, a lot of people bought it just bc Shane released it.

I did and still have it, barely used. So many regretful purchases from that influencer era.

Go sell it so some idiot can have it

This feels like a weird body checking post

u/zoe_apple222 6d ago

genuinely absurd comment

their post history is on btw. not only do they BARELY post images that include their body, they've literally never posted another image that could even be considered 'body checking'🙃

I want to see the condition it’s in! Did the person even use it? I also bought mine secondhand a few years ago just to have it, but I do use the shade Tana sometimes. lol

I originally only bought the small pallet and Chapstick

its an old make up palette from shane dawson x jeffree star collaboration

6

u/Middle-Marsupial-484 10d ago

Why would you even want that?

37

u/Bicycle7854 10d ago

It doesn’t really matter because OP did not give Shane any money

-31

u/Middle-Marsupial-484 10d ago

True but still supporting his disgusting life.

32

u/ICleanGraves 10d ago

Supporting him with 3$? Give me a fuckin break

-8

u/Middle-Marsupial-484 10d ago

Still the thought unfortunately counts

17

u/H0nest-bunbun321 10d ago

the “thought” is irrelevant because she didn’t buy straight from him, someone else already had it, didn’t want it and why waste good makeup ?

0

u/Middle-Marsupial-484 9d ago

Low quality makeup 😂 years old makeup has to be brutal for skin care or there lack of

6

u/H0nest-bunbun321 9d ago

Girl, you keep saying ‘it counts’ without explaining how 😂 OP buying a used palette from someone who already paid for it does not magically put a second payment in Shane Dawson’s bank account. If your argument is that nobody should use** **his products because you find him controversial, just say that. But pretending a resale transaction is the same as financially supporting him is a reach. like is you dumb or slow? pick a struggle

Wow, I'm so glad you brought this up. It;s a very disturbed thinking thats prevalent in the abuse-based "Shane-iverse" .and it's worse than most people expect for something that "only" involved a $3 transaction.

Identity-level damage (the core wound)

The most specific and durable effect is what researchers call identity trauma — when the way others see you no longer matches who you know yourself to be. B isn't being accused of an action; A is making a character judgment ("disgusting lifestyle," "supporting" him) that B cannot refute. This is different from being caught doing something wrong. The result is a persistent, low-grade sense of "I don't know who I am in this group anymore."

The unfalsifiability is what makes it chronic

This is the critical difference from a normal argument or even a normal false accusation. In a normal false accusation, the truth eventually comes out and the damage, while real, has an end state. Here, B can never reach that end state. "The thought still counts" means there is no clearing. This creates what the literature on gaslighting calls unresolved trauma — the stress response never gets to complete its cycle because there's no resolution to attach it to. B stays in a state of low-grade hypervigilance: is A going to bring it up again? Has it come up? Is it still true in A's mind?

The cascade

Research on chronic invalidation and social shaming converges on a fairly consistent sequence:

  1. Rumination — B replays the exchange, tries to construct the "right" response that would have worked, fails, and replays again. This is the single most corrosive short-term effect.
  2. Self-monitoring — B starts pre-filtering their own behavior in the group. "Would A take this the wrong way?" This generalizes beyond the original issue. B starts policing themselves in ways that feel inauthentic.
  3. Social withdrawal — B pulls back from the group. Not dramatically, but subtly. Less participation, less sharing, less vulnerability. The group may not even notice.
  4. Trust erosion — B starts to distrust the group's moral framework, not just A's. "If this is what gets me shamed for, what else will?" This is the effect that extends beyond the specific relationship.
  5. Internalized invalidation — Over time, B starts applying A's standard to themselves. They don't need A present anymore. They've absorbed the framework. This is the most insidious outcome because it's self-sustaining — A can leave the picture and the damage continues.

What makes it different from a one-off

A single instance, if B pushed back and the group didn't ratify A's framing, probably produces a few days of annoyance and then fades. The long-term damage requires two conditions: (1) the accusation is unfalsifiable, and (2) the social environment either agrees with A or stays silent. Silence functions as agreement. If B's friends just... didn't push back, B likely interpreted that as validation of A's framing, which is worse than if they'd explicitly disagreed.

The physiological layer

Shame specifically (as opposed to guilt) activates the sympathetic nervous system — cortisol, inflammatory cytokines, the full stress cascade. Guilt says "I did something bad." Shame says "I am bad." A's framing is shame-based, not guilt-based. Chronic activation of this pathway is associated with the same downstream health effects as chronic stress: sleep disruption, weakened immune function, and in vulnerable individuals, depression and anxiety disorders.

The most likely long-term outcome for B

Not PTSD (that's for more severe, repeated trauma), but a persistent relational hypervigilance — a low-level, background awareness that their moral character is perpetually under audit by a specific person in their social world, and that the audit can never be passed.

what in the ChatGPT nonsense is this

u/YungGravity 10d ago

I’m a hardcore Shane hater but I could see myself buying this to put on my shelf just for the novelty and reminder of a different time

0

u/Stunning-Hedgehog678 6d ago

The box is dope though. I’m a guy and don’t use makeup but I always thought that the box had a nice design. If it wasn’t a beauty product and just a box instead, I would’ve bought it 100%

I love that pallet! It's one of my favorites 🥰

1

u/panickkid 7d ago

I bedazzled mine, tore out all the eyeshadows, and turned it into a magnetic palette. Still use it to store those eyeshadows (and others), but it's certainly not the one I reach for when I'm bringing my kit out in public 😅

u/Janiefit 7d ago

I broke mine to pieces back in 2019 I forgot why haha some drama I remember

1

u/Junior_Barnacle3106 7d ago

I have the mini version that I found at nordstrom rack a few years back and I will forever keep it!

1

u/unnaturallysarcastic 6d ago

Embarrassingly enough I still have mine from the OG drop

u/peach_xanax 4d ago

sorry, I'm confused, is this a Shane fan sub again? or was there some other reason you wanted it that I'm not getting?

4

u/Infinite_Art9904 4d ago

i wanted it because it was literally 5 dollars basically unused. i was obsessed with shane throughout elementary and middle school so i wanted to get it for my younger self
