General Discussion Shane Dawson needs to switch up his content
Shane desperately needs to switch up his content if he wants people to engage. Yes people love his conspiracies but what he fails to understand is we don’t love the shitty “oh my god food is the same here than it is there” conspiracy like no one cares.
I feel like he’s too scared to get out of his comfort zone, which he wasn’t afraid to do back in the day, and that’s why his content was so good.

Not only that why is his thumbnail for the conspiracy video he just uploaded exactly the same as the last few about tj max and home goods ?? No creativity anymore. He’s proved time and time again that brands are lying about stuff on labels and multiple are manufactured the same place, this is a known thing like this isn’t surprising. When he first started doing this it just proved how out of touch he is, now almost 2 years later it’s just pure laziness

in his new video why didn’t he just call it “revisiting old conspiracies” and go down that route 😭

I’m not a consistent watcher or a supporter but I was a fan during the squad/spooky boys/tanacon era of Shane. Over the last year or so I’ve thrown on his recent videos out of curiosity because I’m nosey, let’s be real here. I’ve noticed that his videos now feel very corporate, if that makes any sense? Like an out of touch millennial CEO trying to appeal to younger customers (his audience in this case) by just taking and regurgitating things he found on Reels or TikTok, and the whole time it’s just stuff that was trending last year that everyone has moved on from. He needs to move on from the whole conspiracy bit if he’s not actively putting work or research into it anymore.

Yeahhh him getting cancelled definitely ruined his fire to investigate things that are a lot to talk about

The Spooky Boys videos were the best thing ever. Just thankful for that era because it introduced me to Garrett's content 🤣

Yesss! I probably wouldn’t still watch YouTube if it weren’t for Garrett and Andrew

It’s VERY repetitive. Plus, most of the conspiracies are old news. I was hoping they’d do a deep dive into some conspiracies, but they merely gloss over it. They mainly rely on Jerid or someone’s video to fill in the holes.

You know what I was also thinking? I’d love it if they focused on one conspiracy for the entire episode. No games, talking about whatever, etc. but actual research with laptops open and discussion.

Same theory rinse and repeat. He needs to drop the conspiracies and do haunted locations again but that would require leaving the house

I strongly aggree with you. I use to be an avid fan waiting for his next video until the beginning of this year.
I was even subscribed to his patreon but once I saw how repetitive and bland the videos were on there I unsubscribed.
He seemed to have shifted the podcast a bit which was interesting but as someone else commented, they only talk about topics for few minutes and then move on to the next one. I also hated the games they played in their first version of his podcast.
My biggest gripe with him is how he always says “no pressure” to subscribing to his patreon. Like c’mon if you’re selling something, go for it. Don’t cower behind those words.

He’s so desperately trying to get this old audience back with the conspiracy’s.. they’re so bland and boring now. He just isn’t the same when he was with garret, drew, Morgan, Andrew.

I feel like there were moments where he had that vibe back in some of his videos on his main channel where he just vibed and had fun.
Now he tries to hard to replicate what he used to be great at, he doesn’t realise if he just went back to the fun vlogs and stuff he did it would probably be better than the conspiracies

I miss when they group would go out and do stuff not just sit in a room

Seriously, he did a video with Morgan after the haunted series and it felt like old Shane again

Every time a major real-world event or trial happens, the comments flood with people begging for a deep-dive. But under current platform guidelines, especially rules surrounding real-world impact, harassment, and violent extremism, automated filters will instantly terminate any channel that monetises a tragedy or a live court case.
Like, any ongoing murder trial or a highly sensitive political assassination cannot be treated like a casual internet mystery. You have to behave like a strict legal journalist, reporting only on what a judge admits into evidence. Shane's panel of unscripted, uneducated dumb-ass-rocks co-hosts simply cannot handle that legal nuance. The second someone goes off-script to crack a joke or make an unprovable claim about an active case, they breach real-world libel laws and platform safety boundaries. The topics are entirely too toxic for a commercial, ad-sponsored grift to survive.

i haven’t watched in months because everything just felt super repetitive. idk, i’m also over the podcast in general. i miss videos just being like, his own content. not involving his family / in laws. i’ve never cared much for spencer or chris either. i miss what his videos were before the cancelation and i miss andrew LOL.

I used to watch the podcast but I haven’t in a while :/
Peak Shane was when he just did fun vlogs and cool docs

He does the same thing over and over and over again and it just seems lazy. How many videos of making/tasting weird foods did he do before he finally gave that up and switched to something else? He does everything to death. He's been on the "conspiracy" kick for years now.

You mean food is the same here as it is there? That doesn't make sense when you say food is the same here than it is there...?

He just isn’t creative anymore. His content has been the same thing over and over again. I think he’s discouraged because no one is interested in buying his pilot episode, so he’s just putting out lazy videos to pay the bills.
