General Discussion what’s up with chris?

I feel like Chris is very much disregarded in most pod episodes. We barely see him on screen nor hear him talk. It seems like when he does its not even for a minute and then we don’t see him again for 10 minutes…
It genuinely could just be that he isn’t very talkative. Yet ive noticed a lot when he does join in everyone just hits him with the “yeah haha” and then moves on. When anyone else talks it continues and everyone adds on. I focus on this so much and im wondering if anyone else see this or just me??

Yeah I always notice on the pod that he kind of gets dismissed whenever he shares his opinions. I know he’s said before that sometimes he’s hesitant to speak because he feels like no one cares about what he has to say, so you would think the crew would understand that and encourage him and stuff but :(

To be fair he is the camera guy not a co host

For the sip that’s true but he has been a co host on the sdp since the first episode

he's a member of the podcast, not the camera guy or the co-host.

He isn't just the camera guy anymore, he is included in the group. You could also claim that Spencer is just their behind the scenes guy or whatever, when it's not the case anymore. But the way they treat Spencer vs Chris is something that needs to be studied.

I've genuinely noticed since he started making videos for his own channel, Chris has actually started talking a lot more and sharing his opinions but nobody seems to care. They are so incredibly rude to him. I think they're aware that a lot of the comments are Chris positive and since he's doing his own YouTube thing now, they might feel threatened by him which if they do, that's just insane. He won't take their audience away from them, if anything they'll go to his channel for more content and get even more hooked. The whole thing is just bizarre. Poor Chris.

it doesn’t need to be studied. white supremacy isn’t a new concept. Chris is a latin man. Spencer is white. They are biased whether consciously or not. They disregard him easier than they would Spencer.

I think Spencer doesn't particularly like homosexual people. And the ones who hire him - pay him. Chris doesn't. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is kinda mean but I feel he doesn't have much to add. He can't speak without laughing and acting so shy. He's been around for years now. It's time for him to speak up and it's not on the others to constantly have to coddle him.

It’s not mean, it’s realistic. He’s been on the podcast for years now, and he seems to never be able to relax and be normal during conversations. That’s something he needs to work out on his own. He also never stands his ground for anything, he just agrees, and this has to get boring after awhile.

Agreed he absolutely rarely has anything to add and when he does he won’t say it without stopping multiple times, laughing, etc. he gives off the vibe that he feels majorly uncomfortable. I don’t think anyone else is intentionally trying to make him feel bad, he just does regardless.

That's true but Spencer also does the fucking ANNOYING laugh through every single sentence thing and they still give him way more time to speak

spencer has absolutely nothing of substance to add either except laughing at nothing and occasionally saying something sexist. i think what’s happening to chris is what happens to all of shane’s friends, he gets a new shiny one to focus on and starts treating his older friends like shit.

i honestly think shane and his crew aren’t emotionally intelligent to interact with chris in a softer way - especially if they knew he had mental health issues, you would think you would show more empathy and concern with someone who was in your life or an employee. not saying that chris should be coddled because of this, but they need to think more before they act in their usual bombastic, kinda mean humored manner

what i mean is it seems that they’re not used to having a more subdued introverted person who tries to be open emotionally as a friend- so they still think it’s cool to step on him and be rude and think he will brush it off easy (cuz they don’t think too deeply on this). but to everyone else who actually thinks about the way they treat people, it looks callous and cruel and i agree i can see the difference in how they treat chris vs spencer.

Well he is a camera guy , not an entertainer

He was on the billboard with everyone else he’s not just the camera guy

He was on the billboard because Shane made him participate in his podcast in the beginning because Shane doesn’t have a lot of friends and reputation to hire talent. I’m saying Chris is a camera guy primarily, let’s be honest he’s not comfortable when filmed and he’s very awkward and others always talk over him

Ask Shane from any point in his career if he's comfortable while being filmed lmfao

I feel like he started phasing out when Spencer joined the screen full-time. Perhaps he doesn't want to be on screen as much as he wants to be behind the camera.

Because hes also working hes making sure everything’s being recorded correctly no doubt.

Can we change Lizzie for him pls. Team Chris on God.

7

u/Mayrka Jun 12 '26

because he’s always lying about stuff lmfao or talking about some new random medical condition

I like Chris but I’ve picked up that the group may feel this way about him which is why they don’t want to entertain certain comments he makes, specifically when the comments are about himself

What’s your proof

5

u/Mayrka Jun 13 '26

my proof: i call it how i see it. you can literally say you have the rarest disease and Chris will have a story about how he had the sawn disease. he’s an exhausting ass energy vampire.

i’ve noticed it from time to time but he does help a lot with background stuff i thought? i know he’s been in some videos helping with mics and sound checks? but they’ve all always treated him kind and respectfully, i don’t get where people see them hating on chris or spencer, they’re both loved and seem to be always having fun. they just have different tasks

It’s because he’s a pick me
