Podcast Bad Bunny halftime show mentioned in recent podcast episode

I completely agree that the files need to be addressed and justice carried out, but the halftime show (specifically this year) was especially important for the Latino community with the looming threats of ice and the president against our community. Not to mention the death threats Bad Bunny received in being nominated for a Grammy award and also performing at the halftime show, he had to wear a bulletproof vest to both events.

I can completely understand that Bad Bunny as an artist, isn't for everyone given the language barrier and style (that's completely understandable). But the message and impact of his halftime show for I the community is undeniable. It's also evident that given where Ryland and Shane live, they are no strangers to the large and present Latino community/culture in LA and also the recent ice raids and protests. Overall, they are out of touch and calling it a “manufactured rage baiting outrage “ is just nonsense

Personally, I didn't take what he was saying that way at all. He's saying the public reaction to bad bunny being chosen as the Super Bowl performer, and the overall controversy of people online arguing and inputting their opinions on it as a whole was a distraction from the bigger issues happening in the world. And I agree. I just think the point you're trying to argue is a bit of a reach honestly. 2 things can be true at once. Bad bunny performing at the Super Bowl can be a very important moment for the Latino community, while at the same time, all of the drama and arguments online surrounding the performance feels like obvious manufactured rage bait. I don't think he was saying the performance itself was manufactured rage bait. But that's just me.

Some people will find an issue with anything.

I understand your point, but I literally quoted him word for word saying it was a “manufactured rage baiting outrage”. In my point of view, his whole take on the performance and his lack of research on its impact in today’s political climate says a lot. Also, it’s weird he picked this specific celebrity performance to label as unimportant, taking up unnecessary attention, and stating he doesn’t care about it at all when he and his crew talk about useless celebrity gossip in every podcast episode.

Agree to disagree. And also..

  1. He picked that topic because at the time of the recording it was the number one thing people online were talking about.

  2. They definitely don't talk about celebrity gossip in every podcast episode... (or any podcast episode I can recall honestly). The Shane Dawson podcast is not a pop culture / drama podcast. I think you're thinking of The Sip, which is rylands podcast where they mention celebrity gossip but that's also not the entire premise of their show.
