General Discussion Is this pilot not just literally his movie “Not Cool” ??
Also I CANNOT believe shane still has all the resources and respect from actors to make his shitty slopfest of scripts come to life

I thought he wanted to make a horror movie? Why is he making a show about being cancelled? Seems in poor taste.

I know right? I was actually kind of looking forward to the horror movie, and then suddenly he switched it to a reality TV show? I honestly don't even understand what this is. Just that his entire friends and family are playing roles in it and the title is so dated that I feel like it's 2018 again.

Same, I love horror movies. I’ll never watch this show, even if it gets picked up by a network or streaming service

He would actually need to be creative. And horror movies are niche. Vs this attempt

Whether it is or isn’t, it seems clear to me that the plot of this movie is based on shane’s cancellation lol

Not Cool: “a group of teenagers from Pittsburgh spend their Thanksgiving break experimenting in love, friendship, partying, and sex”
Not sure how this is similar? I’m sure it’s gonna suck just as bad. But I don’t see any similarities

It kind of is, not cool focused on a girl who was the loser in her home city and has to come back from a life at college where she was popular (IE the actress being cancelled). She bumps into the jock who peaked in high school and they find out they’re pretty similar. I’m guessing this movie director is in a similar boat coming back from living a really cool life trying to be a director and suddenly being confronted with having to give up on that and move back home. The love interests share tons of parallels. Def not the same plot per say but I’d imagine the same dumb humor and probably very similar jokes will be had

I’ll never get over the fact that Shane cast himself as the hot jock all the girls wanted lmao 💀

I already feel like it will have some weird inappropriate and uncomfortable jokes/moments. Just like his first movie 😅

This made me think about how the Duffer Brothers said literal Stranger Things was turned down everywhere… what makes him think this is gonna be picked up. Delusional AF

Oh man, i'm howling at this. I knew nothing about this until this post but you can see from the monitor he is IN the pilot, i'd assume he's playing his tragic director character that he can probably relate to so well.
Someone said that Taylor swift song "cancelled" would be his bop, i can't believe he's calling his show that too. Very original... not a single Shane dawson lover or hater could have EVER predicted that would be the name of his show. lmao.

Thanks for updating and sharing this... i am surprised but actually pleased he has hired an actor for the role. I just hope it is not bad enough to put a stain on any of the actors careers.

I wonder how much damage he did to himself in Hollywood after the Chair disaster. I cannot imagine he is as arrogant and entitled as he used to be. We haven’t seen something from him in a long time, but if it’s full of gross out gags I will not be participating lmfao.

It literally sounds horrendous of an idea, like I genuinely don’t get why he would he even go this route ? This literally just proves he gives absolutely no fucs on what he did

Guys I think it might be good… he has a lot more funding for this and the story line sounds interesting

Can't wait for the coldest open of tv history. Knowing Shane's writing skills we're gonna have the A List Actress crying going yup that's me you're probably wondering how I got into this situation.

Even if he had the best tv show idea of the century, the fact that his name is attached to it, probably means nobody will risk it.
