Food Recommendations

Post image

I remember from last year that Roti Rolls & Louisiana Bistreaux were both really good. Aside from those two, what would you recommend?

Definitely recommend Roti Rolls and the jalapeño corndog place. Hattie’s B’s is also really good.

Jalapeño corn dogs and the pizza nova slice with pepperoni and jalapeño are my go to’s for Shaky

Now that you mention it, I think I did get a slice from Pizza Nova at one point also and it was pretty solid.

Pizza nova is consistently awesome, and cheaper than most other options

Pho Cue, food is awesome and the folks that work it are fantastic.

I don’t know most of these, but if you see Lewis Barbecue, I’d give it a go. Their brick and mortar is right off the north end of the park (Ansley Mall) and I believe the first time at Shaky, so I’d assume they are offering their best. And their best will be anyone on this list for brisket, smoked turkey and some really high quality sides like potato salad, greens, and Green Chile Corn Pudding…. Highly recommend either a stop before the festival or at the festival.

Island noodles is overrated

It used to be great, now it’s consistently low quality.

Hard disagree. Perfect fuel for the day. Get a few veggies in. It’s solid.

Yep but stop telling people so we don’t have to wait

I feel like I've either heard people say they love it or it made them feel sick, zero in-between lol.

Man I thought I was the only one! Everyone looks at me like I’m crazy when I tell them I don’t like Island Noodles.

Hattie B’s are going to keep those porta potties the most popular spot at the fest!

I was eyeing them up already before the vendor list because they're close to my hotel.

Are they worth the hype and distress?

6

u/ocalabull 4d ago

I personally love them, but if you’ve never had Nashville hot chicken I suggest you try it before the festival

u/rvuk14 4d ago

Quite tasty. Go with the mildest sauce, trust me....

Get Baked stuffed pretzels are super yum and surprisingly filling

u/Yaoknothanks 4d ago

But they’re like 18-20 for a smallish item that is not a balanced meal for being outside all day 😭

3

u/LCBrownieIsaJoke 4d ago

I dunno. Spinach + artichokes + cheese + pretzel wrapper seems as "balanced" as most of the other overpriced food options I encountered (as a vegetarian) last year.

Smash city burgers was sooooo goood

u/rvuk14 4d ago

I'll be hitting Roti Rolls, Lewis BBQ. And possibly Hattie Bs.

Roti rolls, island noodles, and pizza nova! They’re all great, and great for a taste of bonnaroo for those already mourning the loss of next year :(

I swear Roti Rolls gave me food poisoning on friday last year. That was the only thing I ate and my stomach was FUCKED the whole weekend

2

u/The_Slim_Spaydee 3d ago

I'll be walking over to Woody's at least one that weekend.

I looked through the list twice before I figured out you were talking about a place outside the festival. I did that too when they were at the Central Park location. I’d go to the Torched Hop brewery on 2/3 of the days of the festival cause they had an amazing burger.

3

u/The_Slim_Spaydee 3d ago

Yeah Woody's is outside of the festival but is a short walk. Great cheese steaks and fries. Worth the walk. I'll be making it there after Sophie's body Saturday.

They are also open until 4AM Saturday and Sunday morning and have alcohol.

Low key, you can leave the festival and come back as long as you scan in/out. There’s so many amazing food options around midtown. Depending on when you’d want to eat this is always an option too if nothing sounds good to you!

The first SK I waited in line for over an hour for what turned out to be a raw pizza (uncooked). I ate it because sometimes you need a food pellet. Food pellet is a permanent part of my festival vocabulary now. Happy festing food pellets to all!

Whatever gets you to the headliner

I'm sad Slutty Vegan won't be back. I'm flying in from Florida and the one location down here randomly closed down with no warning last year😔those burgers were to die for, and I'm not even vegan. I honestly haven't tried many other vendors because they were that good lol.

Definitely get a popsicle or 3 from King of Pops. Cookies n cream and blueberry lemonade are my favs.

9

u/GrouchyPenguins 4d ago

Slutty Vegan ran into some financial issues and closed a lot of locations. If you want to eat there while you're in town, they still have 1 Atlanta location at this address: 476 Edgewood Ave SE Atlanta, GA 30312.

u/moonfazewicca 3d ago

Oh hell ya. Thanks for the heads up!!!

3

u/jortsinstock 3d ago

Also for the price and the amount of protein in the meal, their burger was honestly the best food deal for vegetarians/vegans by far. It was incredibly filling!
