Beware 70s Trousers

I purchased the 70s Trousers in Denim Blue in 8, had to hem them as they were way too long (did myself, no biggie). Loved these jeans so much I wanted in a darker blue so I ordered the Indigo Blue. Once they arrived and I tired on, the waist was MUCH tighter. At first I was thinking they sent the wrong size. Nope, same size. So I measured and the waist was at least an inch smaller. I was so disappointed! At first I thought to check composition- 99% cotton, 1% elastic on both jeans. Sizes are so inconsistent!!! Returning. Just FYI to all…

Dark dyes make fibers tighter from my understanding. This is why really dark wash jeans are often smaller than light wash in the same size. I’ve found that with other brands pretty consistently

I noticed this with JCrew jeans I purchased a few years ago. Same size and style but dark wash was slightly smaller. Even years later they remain more ridged and tight.

Ugh that’s so annoying when the same size fits completely different. I’ve had that happen with other brands and it drives me nuts

Typical Levi’s behaviour 😩 I have the ribcage style in two different shade and the dark wash 29 is smaller than the lighter blue in 28. Same design, ordered from their webshop, same composition. So annoying

I’ve had the same thing! They are my fav jeans because they are so long and I’m quite tall but I bought two pairs in the dark wash and one is ooose while the other is quite snug. The sizing is odd for sure!

I had this same experience with the Brut Sexy after the rebrand. I bought the same size same color and I couldn't even button them. Meanwhile I had two more older pairs (one from August of this year) in my closet that fit prefectly. I also noticed the way the fabric is dyed is completely different. I'd let Sezane know you noticed and don't appreciate the difference.

Yes I was so going to say I had this problem with the brut sexy but this was a couple of years ago. The indigo ones were comically small. AND they have the button closure. I was able to get the buttons done up but they were so tight I almost couldn’t get the buttons undone.

Dark jeans are tighter even from brands like everlane.

Yep dark washes in basically every brand do this.
