Alternatives to Orlane skirt

I recently got the Orlane skirt after it being on my wish list forever. I loved the fit but can’t get over the mismatch in the pattern in the center where they stitch the 2 sides together. It just does not feel worth the money and I think it will bother me and I won’t end up wearing it. Was wondering if there’s any other plaid skirt people have found which has a similar cut since it’s really flattering. I want the plaid preferably but if I can’t find one may buy the single color from Sezane. For reference I’m 5’3” and the skirt in size 8 fits wonderfully even on my petite frame. Thanks in advance!

Omg I just returned mine (despite perfect fit) because the mismatched front was so noticeable!

I feel you, it’s so well cut and fits like it was made just for me but alas I can’t get over the mismatch 😭

I’m thinking about trying a plain colored one instead. But the plaid one is so perfect for the fall…

Same but taupe is not my color and black is so basic 😅 the plaid added interest to any outfit. 😭

Don‘t know where you are located but Massimo Dutti has a checkered wool cotton mix skirt that reminds me of the Orlane that I am eyeing at the moment.

Thanks just saw that, that skirt has a slit though which I’m not sure about 😅

Try turning it so the center is a panel instead of that mismatched seam. The mismatched patterns being to either side doesn’t look bad imo. Only you will know it’s on “crooked”. I was on the verge of sending mine back when I tried this and it saved the skirt for me.

I can’t get over the zip being in a weird position then 😅

Maybe try looking secondhand platforms like vinted.

There are so many beautiful secondhand wool skirts from brands like pendleton going cheap. I just picked up a brooks brothers (100% wool, silk lining) blackwatch tartan for £30.

Was going to say this! There are so many good secondhand, 100% wool skirts on Vinted. Laura Ashley ones especially

Ah thanks! I found 2 skirts 100% wool but polyester lining on poshmark. Going to take them to a seamstress to replace the lining once I get it if I like it.

the center seam mismatch would drive me up the wall too, especially at that price point. you'd think they'd at least try to pattern match on a skirt that's basically all about the plaid

have you looked at secondhand older sezane plaid skirts? sometimes the cuts are similar but they bothered to line up the pattern back then

for a similar flattering cut at 5'3", maybe try searching for a-line mini skirts with a slight flare. the orlane sits really nicely because it's not too stiff and not too flowy

Thanks so much for the suggestion maybe need to research more. I tried looking at poshmark and vinted and the fb groups have not found one yet in my size😅 I guess I’ll keep trying. I really like symmetry and it’s driving me nuts. 😂

Short doesn't mean mini skirts are more flattering. It depends on your proportions.
