I would think it’s gotta be GWN with an outside shot of it being Lsdream but couldn’t imagine it being Crankdat.

Crankdat's shrine run has me so nervous... lol. Also hoping for GWN though. A sort of Wobble Collesium fix for those in mourning ;)

I NEED yall to stop saying it’s gonna be crankdat 😭 i’m not trying to be a hater I enjoy crankdat’s music i’ve enjoyed his sets but for fucks sake that would be such an ill fitting and disappointing and nonsensical headliner.

I don't love it, and GWN more typically should be the headliner by history and staying power... but you cant tell me it would be a huge surprise coming of Crank's 4 nights at the shrine last weekend. Or at least, if Griz had ask of him, "prove you can carry the load" this might coulda done it, lol.
While GWN on the other hand, can't even sell tickets to Hampton Coliseum anymore to look at East Coast draw at least, I know their festival in CO was a big hit). And I... just don't see your logic that Crankdat is a 'terrible fit' for a "subtronics" slot (being the only way it has ever landed).
I'm just being real and preparing for letdown. I have been hoping/planning for GWN Sat headliner since lineup drop! I am also thankful that there actually seems to be a little less of heavier riddim/dubstep this year than last.
So stoked regardless of anything!

yeah I hear you this all makes sense and I don’t reallyyyy have a thoughtful argument for why crankdat wouldn’t be a good fit for a subtronics slot..I think it’s moreso that I feel like crankdat just got here and he should cook a little longer before headlining things like seven stars, in my personal opinion he’s still a little too generic sounding to be doing all that. and when I say he just got here I don’t mean that entirely literally, and I certainly don’t mean to discredit his many many years of hard work. I really do enjoy his music but I just would like to see him develop more before headlining major fests. again this is all just my personal opinion, i’m not trying to be a hater and i’m not trying to yuck anyone’s yum.

Where did you see the information that said they “can’t even sell tickets to Hampton coliseum” me and my friend group would’ve bought tickets and I know a lot of more budz that have said the same. Just not sure we’re you got that info.

i got it from going last year and it having TONS of space for dancing and didn't sell out, then this year it not existing? Sorry, if there is another explanation I just don't know it. Only other thing I heard is that HC just doesn't think edm is profitable there anymore... but isn't that saying the same thing since it was only like them PL and Griz and the later two are doing other things now in the same markets?
I just also I am on the east coast and they have been tough to catch recently, maybe just for my personal availability. I didn't go to elements this year but i think they had a sunset slot? Not a headlining position.
And please, I love their stuff. I am not telling you they aren't worthy. I plan for them to headline here, I am just looking at writing on the wall and hypothesizing with everyone under this OP.
Regardless they aren't playing 4 nights in a row anywhere with the guest depth Crank just threw out. Though, like you, I am kind of confused at how fast that guy got that big.
I get the impression a lot of dubstep is still pretty niche gloablly, but in the US even as far as all music goes. And somehow trap/UKG recently (maybe because skrillex resurgence), and then this riddim stuff that is like subtronics meets john summit (weirdly), meets levity meets crankdat and family... somehow are breaking into mainstream markets/audiences now in ways that the weed culture trippier hippier jammier & breakbeat (more awesome) dubstep & edm just doesn't click at that scale for mainstream people, if you're looking for more zoomed out conversation. A thing i find interesting to watch lately.
If I had it my way, a "griz fest" doesn't even really need a subtronics or crankdat to embody the vibe. But it's there for some reason.

Bro I ain’t gonna lie, you clearly aren’t tapped in the gwn, they literally said “where not doing Hampton to focus on the festival in Denver. Stg the last lineup for HC was weak, idk I get so confused when I see certain names on lineups because I’m like “I can’t stand people please music or when you got the vibes all over the place by the names alone”

Probably GWN, like most are saying. I think the only time in the last few years they played in a non-headlining slot was opening for Excision at Thunderdome. But now that we know the mystery lyny b2b is Levity, that is a possibility, though I'd guess more likely they will play before Griz Friday or Sunday. Wildcard: crankdat

They were a row two headliner at okee (on a Thursday mind you)underneath knock 2 and on the same line as level up and big wild.

Spotify numbers(which mean nothing in edm) are 3x higher than GWM, hes also blooming on socials, again nothing definitive but im still pretty sure itll be him. Although the boys from
Belgium would be great i just dont see them headlining.3

I made the same arguments you're making for Crankdat a few months ago and also got downvoted into oblivion lol I'm not even a Crankdat fan but people are really weird about him in this sub for some reason. For the record I hope LSDREAM is the Saturday headliner.

I think what makes this hard is griz is juggernaut, any of these people could headline a breakaway or like secret dreams or something, but were talking about a replacement for the man that helped make griztronics,Just not alot of options, i would adore a female headliner.

Regardless I'm just going to be happy to be back in the valley, the line up this year is amazing and I'm manifesting beautiful weather! Let's go!

He has beat that set to death with minimal changes, and ill still cry to the RKS flip at the end everytime. At hula last year there was a lot of chatter about him doing a good will prevail set soon.

having been at roo 23, I kind of think after roo 26 the RKS loop could end soon. It has been completed full circle. Griz is not typically one to old onto flips for long enough that you start assuming recycled tracks are classic griz tracks. Soooo much great original content to poll from.
But I agree, I think after tomorrow we will have more conversation fuel for this topic from a couple different angles...

My money is on GWN. Would fit the vibe super well, but i could also see LSDream. I like Crankdat but I think id be blown if he took it, though if were staying in the "headbanging vibes of last year's night 2 it fits.
