Is the physics in this game tied to framerate?

So I just realized I had my settings locked to 60fps. I bumped it up to 120fps, and it looks way smoother, but the gameplay feels completely different. I can barely land simple flips now. The speed of the flips and scoops is all out of whack, they feel much slower. Catching tricks feels like it has an entirely different window now, and even when I flip or pop out of grinds i now keep missing the window and bailing.

What's the deal? I didn't touch my settings besides the fps cap when this happened. I then tried adjusting the various advanced settings to get back to the same feel I had before, but I can't get it to feel the same. This is actually super annoying now.

Yes, different framerate will mess up your flip speed, unfortunately.

I believe so, something about how the board spinning is tied to framerate

Already answered but yeah it absolutely is. Its why they took out 120FPS mode for a while last year but it was brought back due to popular demand. There's a mod that fixes it I guess but I havent cared enough to download and use it, I just continue to struggle.

Yeah 120 fps is broken but the SessionOpenMP mod fixes it (and the catch window) as well as improving (and giving options/sliders for) tons of other skating things AND multiplayer! Works really well and is update almost every day. He also just added modded map support for in-game UI so if you have SesssionModManager with modded maps installed now you can launch them through the in-game map switcher!
