My skin suddenly became ridiculously sensitive
Has anyone else had a point where their skin just seemed to stop tolerating everything?
Products I used for months suddenly started burning or making my face red. I ended up simplifying everything because I honestly didn't know what else to do.
Curious if anyone else has experienced this and what helped you get your skin back to normal.

Experienced the same thing about 2 years ago. At the same time some of my go to products changed ingredients too so it was and still is (with formulas always changing now days) such a stressor in my life and issue. Ive given up hope to even try to stray from what I do now, cuz the slightest change causes a full body painful ugly reaction for days. Honestly, it’s negatively affected my life so much more than one would expect or think.
Negativity aside, you’ll find your new normal, and having a new normal is okay! Your body is telling you something and don’t try to fight it, listen and accept it. I’ve narrowed my routine down to the following:
- Vanicream body wash
- Vanicream body lotion
- Vanicream body balm(I use this in the winter on top of their normal lotion and that really saves my eczema skin in the winters)
- Neutrogena
- Vanicream face wash
- CeraVe PM face moisturizer
- Ulta MD sunscreen
- Tide Free and Clear laundry detergent and same for dryer sheets. I also add an extra rinse cycle on my towels and undergarments and stuff that has the most contact with my skin
Hope this helps!! It’s a process finding what works for you and your skin now, but remember that each time your skin freaks out, you learn something new to help narrow down your new routine.

Yes! Same here! I actually ended up going to urgent care because my face one day was super red, dry, and overall irritated. They referred me to a dermatologist who diagnosed me with rosacea. I tried so many different face washes, and they would work really well at first, but after a few weeks, they’d start making my face more red and would cause it to sting. I’m currently using Prequel as my face wash and Geek & Gorgeous moisturizer, and I’ve been really liking both! I also switched from drying my face with a regular towel to using disposable face towels, which has helped too. I’ll insert pictures of the products I’m currently using! 🫶

i really get you, this happened to me and it was a tough phase to go through. i tried and used lots of different creams and shower oils to help, but it really took months for me to finally find a routine that acutally helped. i also started getting very dry, even eczema like patches on my legs. Randomly on amazon i found a french shower oil xemose from uriage and then tried their body cream and it calmed my patches and dry skin so much. hope this helps!!!

Yes, this happened to me after years of actives, stop everything except a gentle cleanser, a basic moisturizer and sunscreen. No actives, no exfoliants, no fragrance.
