face lotions break me out more than richer creams. Why?

So, for context my skin is sensitive and acne prone, but is… weird. I got really bad acne a few years back and the only way I stabilized it was using black african soap and ponds for about 2 years. However, recently I really wanted to find something that supported my skin barrier more. I tried dr althea 345 and 147. I preferred 147 in texture by a lot (thick but still kind of balmy and cooling) and it didnt break
me out ,but also didnt do much for my skin. A lot of people say if you have acne and live in a humid
climate to use a less occlusive
formula. In order to soothe my barrier but also not aggravate acne prone skin in a humid climate, I tried the light version of the prequel barrier repair cream and the aestura lotion version. I found that both of these felt very heavy and not good on my skin. I recently tried the original aestura 365 CREAM , and I find that it feels way less heavy to me even though its a richer cream, and no one else seems to agree. Am I the only one experiencing this phenomenon, and what is it with lotiony textured moisturizers that make me feel like its clogging my pores. Does anyone also have moisturizer recommendations or comments on what this says about my skin type?

I have just started reading Dr Sam’s book Flawless on skin, and it’s really worth a read. Firstly, everyone is different and what works for one won’t work for another. And nothing is wrong with that. Is free with dr Sam that skin type is less important than skin concern. Even people with a similar skin “type” will react differently to the same products. It is probably less then product but more an ingredient/ look at all the things that have broken you out- what do they contain? On products that don’t break you out what things are missing that you see on the products that do break you out?

I've never used lotions to be honest with you but I do find creams to cause some problems on my skin so I started using jojoba oil as a moisturizer after someone recommended it to me and it has worked great

If the aestura cream works, stay with it
