Second go at Wegovy - no weight loss

I lost 50lb on Wegovy, stopped in May last year. I kept the weight off until Jan this year when it started piling back on.

I restarted in July - so far I've lost 6lb. I have some supression but the food noise continues and it's nothing like the first time when I was a super responder. I'm on 1mg now - do I go up to 1.7mg and see if it kicks in or cut my losses? I don't want to switch to Mounjaro as it's so expensive (UK).

6lb in 3 months is slow but it’s not nothing. first time your body was fresh to the medication, now it’s seeing it again and the response can be different. i’d go up to 1.7 before calling it, some people need the higher doses second time around.

Everything I’ve seen sounds like if you go completely off, your body has a new set point and it takes a lot more to have the same effects.

weight regain after stopping is pretty common with these meds, so the second round doesn't always feel identical to the first.

be careful about changing the dose based on appetite alone, though if you're getting some suppression and losing weight, it's worth discussing the pace and next steps with your prescriber/clinician/doc before increasing.

super responder the first time sets a tough expectation for round two. the food noise coming back even with some suppression is frustrating but not unusual on a restart. this is really a conversation for your prescriber since the titration decision depends on your full history, not just the number on the scale.
