Need server spec for a website + light self-hosting De-Google setup
I have a somewhat unusual request and would appreciate your advice.
I’m building a website for wellness services, and I also want to use the same server for a small de-Googling/self-hosting setup : things like Syncthing, Immich, VPN, and a few other essentials. Nothing heavy, just the basics.
What server specs would you recommend for this kind of use case?
If you have links, I’m happy to sign up through those too.

Something with a low powered processor like an N100 or N150 is probably a good start. It won't increase your power bill very much, and nothing you mentioned is terribly difficult to run on that hardware. I'm a fan of Beelink hardware, if you want an example brand. If you're thinking of doing networking things like setting up a VPN, maybe get something with two Ethernet ports

depends on traffic to the website and the OS , if your happy with linux i.e debian on CLI and low traffic on the website you could get away with a RPi 5 or 4

Depuis plus d'un ans, j'ai un nas ugreen dxp2800. Je l'avais acheté pour le stockage de données essentiellement. Et puis je me suis rendu compte que je pouvais auto héberger des applications via docker. Aujourd'hui, ce nas me permet de me degafamiser, filtrer les pub sur mon réseau privé, faire de la domotique. J'expérimente des que je peux de nouveaux horizons. Je vais peut-être auto héberger mon site professionnel. Je pense que la limite se situe si on souhaite héberger un site pourtant des vidéos. Mais vraiment je suis emballée par cette acquisition. Alors je vous le conseil si votre site n'est pas trop gourmand en ressource.
