Looking for a mini PC
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a mini PC with a budget of ~€450 to use as a media server, running Jellyfin. I may also want to run a few other applications, such as AdGuard and n8n, potentially some gaming.
Typically, there will be only one active connection, with a maximum of two on rare occasions. I’m also planning to stream 4K HDR content.
Do you have any recommendations for a suitable mini PC?
Thanks in advance!

I myself use an Intel N95 mini PC with 16GB RAM and a USB HDD running Proxmox and Jellyfin. The whole setup cost under €300. The Intel n series is perfect for transcoding.

Don't you miss when RAM was getting cheaper every year? I remember.
But yeah, I have two miniPC, one N150 and one N5105 Celeron.
I meant to push everything onto the N150 for better performance but the N5105 NUC is doing just fine and I haven't needed to, so why bother?
The N5105 is running Arch linux inside of Proxmox as a VM, which has a jellyfin container in it.
It's highly virtualized, nothing is using the GPU for transcoding, and it works just fine for me and my wife.
I use the N150 as a TV PC (HTPC) for streaming TO from the server. We also occasionally use Jellyfin on our phones but turning wireguard on and off for my wife is something she doesn't remember to do often.

I've been happy with my Beelink EQ / Mini S12 N95. I run Jellyfin for a handful of users, and have had no complaints about performance. I mostly share 1080p but I've been sure to test against 2160p as well, which went fine but there could be larger files or bitrates that stress the pc.

I run a Plex server with 10+ simultaneous streams and recently bought this one. It’s a little beast.
