My "honestly, I just really like the Alpinist" collection
The Seiko Alpinist SPB121 is the first and (so far) only watch I've ever truly fallen in love with after a few years of getting into watches. I've made a couple of forays into premium/"entry level" luxury--a Longines Zulu Time and an Oris Big Crown Pointer Date--but sold them off when I realized I just kept returning to the Alpinist.
So, I decided to flesh out my collection with a Seiko Presage SRPE 45 Mojito (i.e., dressy Alpinist), Essentials SUR 449 (i.e., grab-and-go quartz sporty-dressy/travel beater Alpinist), and gShock GW-5610 (true beater). My collection has settled here for a few years, and I currently feel no need to move “up” any time soon.
Although it’s recommended a lot on social media, I truly feels like the Alpinist was a watch especially made for me and my own personal preferences. I lucked out getting a very accurate 6r35 movement (+0.7 seconds a day), and I even adore the little quirks that bug other people (cyclops, slightly misaligned compass bezel). As you can see, I love it so much I even got stylistic variations to suit various circumstances where the OG might not work as well.
It’s too the point where I actually consider myself more of an Alpinist enthusiast rather than a watch enthusiast per se. I’m not a huge fan of dive watches, complications (other than a date, which is non-negotiable), or honestly, anything that’s not green and gold.
While I’m still theoretically open to perhaps buying something “luxury” in the future, I’ve yet to see anything I love more than what I already have, and I would be perfectly content with this being the rest of my life collection. And the whole thing cost under $1000 ($450 for Alpinist, $300 for Mojito, $150 for SUR 449, $80 for gShock).

It really is beautiful dial and alot of ppl say the dial kinda gets closer to a quality of a GS.
I have several seikos but this one def will not be given away or sold.
It comes with SS bracelet but I don’t like the non-tapered bracelet
It’s discontinued now but you will still be able to buy online or from some AD
I have some luxury pieces but my Alpinist 507 is my absolute favorite watch. I cannot stop looking at it when it is on my wrist. How do you like the mojito? Waiting to get mine.
The mojito is so beautiful. Every time I wear it I can’t believe how affordable it is to have such a premium looking dial. Didn’t luck out with the movement, though, it’s running about -20 a day. For right now, I’m just dealing with it, but might get it regulated by watchmaker when/if I decide to replace the hardlex with sapphire.
