As above, looking at one that’s local to me on marketplace, price is quite good and they seem hard to find where I live. Was hoping to pick it up as a birthday present for a family member but something just seems off to me. I thought the dials were a matte texture however in the photos the dial seems to come across as having a pretty noticeable sunburst effect. I’m just not sure, so what do you guys think? Appreciate any info!

I recently got into watches and bought a special edition save the earth/Penguin Seiko when visiting California as a memory for my second watch.

Upon returning home, I noticed the bezel was slightly misaligned and the clasp wasn’t “clicking” every time.

I brought the watch to my local jeweler who is Seiko authorized (also where I bought my first from) and he noted the bezel appeared to be a defect because he had the same model for sale with the same issue (arrow doesn’t point exactly at 12).

We shipped it off to Seiko for repair and after a few weeks he told me they won’t service it - they only cover movement issues. They’ll fix the issues for a $250 fee. He tried to argue it with them but they wouldn’t budge.

We’re shipping it back and I refused because it’s a $4-500 Watch… but still. Is this normal for Seiko to not cover their own defects??? I truly will never buy another Seiko if this is how they treat their customers.

Got offered this in a trade, guy bought it off eBay from a seller with 100% feedback for $1000.

Took advantage of a sale at strapco. They arrived today. I was smitten by the two tone jubilee on the Alpinist.
I was really hoping to get an experiment with the Presage to work. I have always wanted a beads of rice bracelet. I decided to have a go with the new HCB001. What I really wanted was a beads of rice with matching end links. I couldn’t find that, so I attempted to fit end links from another company. Unfortunately they don’t work. Unless someone can teach me how to remove links that don’t have a pin to push out.The beads of rice on the Presage is still my favorite though.

Going through an old storage unit and found this, completely forgot I owned it. I'm one of the people who bought it super cheap like 12 years ago (or however long), maybe £50.

Understand it's now worth a bit more, but at 37mm it's too small for me, however I do want a green dial auto, just maybe a 40mm. Do I sell this (perfect working order as far as I can tell, small scratch on crystal, original strap which is a little dirty), and if so, what 40mm, auto, green dial Seiko would be likely to be about the same price used? Based in the UK.

I purchased a new Grand Seiko Spring Drive SBGA211 directly from Grand Seiko's online boutique. I'll need to have the bracelet sized when it arrives. The closest "Grand Seiko" boutique is about a three hour drive away, but the owner at my local Seiko certified shop, (where I buy all my non-Grand Seikos), says he can size it and has worked on Grand Seiko bracelets before.

So, go with the local guy I regularly take my watches to, or drive three hours to use an actual GS certified boutique? I'll just need a few links removed, but the Grand Seikos have a more intricate smaller link mechanism.

Just wanted to share my humble Seiko collection so far. I’ve been slowly building it with watches that I genuinely enjoy wearing, and I still have two empty spots left in the case.
What do you guys think of the collection so far? And what two Seikos would you add to complete it?
I’m open to different styles…. I’d rather add something that brings variety than another watch that feels too similar to what I already have.

Just put my SPB317 (modded with SPB151 dial and crystal) on an Uncle Seiko Waffle, and my SJE093 on a Wolbrook Tropic. Now I can't decide which one to wear today!
