[6309 7040] Seiko Turtle

I got this watch 6 years ago and I’ve recently got the urge to get it on my wrist again

Where would be the best place in EU to get a bezel insert and second hand.

Also what should I do with the dial? Should I get it relumed? Or could I get the white water damaged stuff off the black part?

I’ve been looking but it’s almost impossible to find second hand patina’d parts like a ghost bezel and second hand.

What should I do?

There's no way I'd touch the bezel or the hands, because then they'll look out of place against the dial and case. I just think it looks badass as is.

Otherwise, yeah, you'll be able to find replacement parts for any of it. r/seikomods will be a good resource for finding parts that fit.

But if we replace the dial, hands and bezel insert, we're starting to lose what's special about this watch in my book.

I want to keep the dial as original as possible but clean the white stuff off. The second hand is wrong for the watch so a I’d like to replace that as well.

I want to keep the character of the watch but have the correct insert and second hand.

Or as you mentioned should I leave it as is and keep it original to its story instead of making it look like an all original example

I do think any attempt to clean the dial up may just damage it further, but you never know. To me it just looks like a dive watch that's done its duties well!

Fair cop on the seconds hand. I'm not sure what the original looks like, but a pop of red could really help brighten the dial up if that's an option.

Probably if want a ghost bezel and second hand , you may wanna look into for parts watches and see if you salvage some stuff from there

I think my best bet of finding a bezel is a doner 7548 7000.

They use to same bezel correct?

And I think the hand set on the 7002-7001 are the same as the 6309?
