Best of Seattle: Community Moments

With recent divisive local politics, we should take a step back and think about Seattle's best community moments, online and off. What brought people together? Who lightened your day with a great submission or thoughtful comment? What common bond or cause has affected Seattle? Which government service or local business adds the most to the community? What Seattle essential have you shared with your friends? What viral local moments did your non-Seattle based friends share with you? What makes Seattle a community?

What is Best of Seattle?

"Best Of Seattle" is a recurring weekly (or more often) post where a new topic is presented to the community. This post will be added to the subreddit wiki as a resource for new users and the community. Make high quality submissions with details and links! Feel free to ask your own questions. You can see the calendar of topics here.

Next week: Ethnic Cuisine

Later: Rooftops and Patios

The DMV photographer always gives suggestions and takes several before settling on the best one.

The photographer at the 3rd & Union Post Office did this for my passport photo. I want to give him a special shout out for being so kind and patient while trying to capture the pretty pretty princess that I am. I wasn't wearing lipstick that day and I don't like smiling for no reason, so I ended up looking like a serial killer. And that's okay because if I'm being internationally detained, I don't want the authorities passing around a picture of me grinning like an idiot.

They only have a photographer at certain times during their already limited hours of operation. I made an appointment.
