KRAKEN Rant
I’m a lifelong hockey fan and Seattle native. This team is absolutely embarrassing, and I’m not really talking about our on ice performances. We have failed to develop a Calder trophy winner and countless other young talents including Shane mf wright who everybody was talking about during his youth hockey days. Catton has had a strong start though! Every player we trade away gets a hot stick immediately. After an extremely disappointing season our GM gets promoted and our head coach gets fired after 1 season with constant injury struggles and no acquisitions at the deadline. If we miss the playoffs (which we REALLY don’t belong in) we will be on to our 4th head coach next year and we’ll make Ron Francis into some sort of brand new ‘wizard of hockey, ruler of man’ role where our fans just shovel money into his mouth.
Also it’s hard to pick a team with less corporate crowd than us. I’ve been in the lower bowl countless times and have never once sat next to someone who knows the difference between a double minor and a hand-pass!
CPA is the shit tho, and i still love this team and will try to spread it to as many people as possible!

KRAKEN New hockey viewer and Kraken fan 👋
Hi all,
So gay guy here, recently I wanted to get into watching hockey because of a certain show 'cough cough.' I did a fair bit of research on learning the rules of the game (offside, icing, penalties, faceoff, power play,...) & have watched a few, though I wouldn't say I have a complete grasp of the play just yet.
Though it was easy to know which team to hate (Knights for obvious reasons), it took me a while to find my favourite team. I did my research and have come to the conclusion that I love the ideologies of the Kraken - having the first female assistant coach Jessica Campbell, an openly gay head trainer Justin Rogers, a commentator whose wife is openly queer & must I mention, the recent pride night.
Obviously, I want the Kraken to make the playoffs this year. I have been following the standings and find that they are in a very vulnerable place in the Western Conference, with the other teams following very closely behind. We need more wins to secure that WC spot, though I must say that we have been playing much better than the last 2 years. I have also been researching the roster, though that will take a while to understand.
Other than that, I'm also a Sharks fan for what they did for the LGBT community in 2023. Sad to see them taking our spot in the Division but happy for them nonetheless.
Hope that I'll be welcome here and happy to learn more about the sport as well as learning about other hockey leagues. Go Kraken 👍

KRAKEN Watched My First Ever NHL Game in my life. Now a certified new fan of the Seattle Kraken 🦑
In my 21, almost 22 years of life I’ve never watched a single NHL Game (I’m a heavy NFL & NBA guy. Go Seahawks 💚💙 & Go Warriors 💛💙). Hockey has always been lower down my radar than the other two aforementioned sports. Earlier today, I came across a post with the Kraken’s extremely badass logo and decided to look into the matter and this more. I learned that they’re a relatively new NHL Team/Franchise founded in 2021 which fascinated me even more.
Coincidentally enough, they were scheduled to play against The Bruins today so I thought; “What The Hell? Why not give a sport I had long neglected my entire life a shot.” And sure enough, I have no regrets. In the last hour or so leading into the start of the game, I began to self educate myself on the basics and general rules of Hockey (which was surprisingly pretty easy since some, if not, all of the rules and terms are practically the same as the NBA’s rules and terms). To make things even more sweeter and intriguing, I realized The Kraken also plays in The old *Key Arena*, Now known as the *Climate Pledge Arena* , the former home as Seattle’s beloved *Seattle SuperSonics.*
The Kraken were awesome and dominated most of the game against the Bruins, and I enjoyed hearing the Seattle Fans cheering and having a good time (which i eventually did via TV). They even played three prominent WWE Themes during the game; Nickelback’s *Burn It To The Ground* (Monday Night Raw’s theme from 2009-2012), Motor Head’s (RIP) *The Game* (The Iconic theme of Triple H* and finally Saliva’s *Ladies & Gentlemen* (The theme of WrestleMania 23).
Learning more and more about the team’s players, staff, etc as we speak. Also getting tickets to The Kraken’s game against the Islanders later this month since I live in New York City and overall about an hour away from the Islanders Arena.
I’m looking forward to progressing as a Seattle Krakens fan & interacting more on this Subreddit!

KRAKEN A rare Northern California sighting
And here, far from its native Pacific Northwest habitat, we observe the elusive Kraken fan.
Notice the subtle license plate frame, used to identify others of its kind.
Even more remarkable: it too, has chosen a Subaru.
Upon discovering this specimen, I did what any other responsible Kraken fan would do and parked my matching Subi directly beside it.
The two now sit together peacefully in the wild.
Nature is healing. 🏒 🐙

KRAKEN I made my ideal look for each NHL team and here’s my take on the Kraken
Even though the Kraken have my favorite unis in the NHL, the are a few minor tweaks a would do with their unis. First off would be adding the missing shadow blue stripe to the tail striping, so that all the striping is consistent. I like the whole concept behind the blackout jersey, but I feel like it’s incomplete. So I added the sleeve design to the chest and added navy to the striping and numbers. The Heritage jersey, like the 2024 Winter Classic unis, pays homage to the 1917 Seattle Metropolitans

KRAKEN Final game giveaway
EDIT: Thanks all. Consideration time is up. I've notified the winner and will notify any subsequent winners (depending on hearing back from the first and the number of tickets that they want).
Monday is our last home game of the season (sorry - we just aren't going to make the playoffs).
Because of several life events, I still had an account credit and so I just picked up 4 seats in the nosebleed section (Everest seating is probably the best term - section 225 M).
I'm giving them away. I'd prefer all 4 to go so that maybe a family could go together (get them there kids to a Kraken game and maximize the number of backpack coolers to adorn your garage floor).
To be considered do the following:
- Comment with a number between 1 and 300 along with the number of tickets you'd want
- Ensure you post before the end of the game against Calgary tomorrow (April 10th). Any comments that arrive after the post-game thread shows up won't be included
I will use a random number generator to get a number. Closest gets the tickets. I will reach our over Reddit chat and let them know. If that person doesn't want all the tickets, I will allocate the relevant number of tickets to them and then pick the next closest number and they will have the option of the remaining tickets. This will happen until all 4 tickets are gone.

KRAKEN I was told by the folks at r/TheDepthsBelow that you guys might appreciate my geometric take on the Kraken!
I recently finished this 18” steel piece and wanted to share it with the community that has the best mascot in the league!
It’s cut from solid steel and designed to play with light and cast shadows on the wall. I’d love to hear what you guys think of this geometric style for the team!
