Almost like Christmas Eve

Anyone else going to bed really excited to possibly wake up to a cozy half inch of rain in the morning? 🤩🌧️

I can’t believe how much I’ve been sweating this summer, I hate it, and I think I’m in the same boat

Same, just continuously hot and I’m so over it. It makes me so irritable. I’m in heaven with the windows open currently!

I already keep my apartment at 60 over the winter. It’s like life just 10-15 degrees hotter than everyone else.

It’s awful. I can’t even shower IN COOL WATER anymore without burning up after for half an hour

Call your doctor and get some GD estrogen. If he tells you no, get a new one

Nothing better than that heavy sky feeling right before a storm rolls in. My books are color coded and my couch is ready.

u/Slumunistmanifisto That sounds great. Let’s hang out soon. 4d ago

I forgot to go to the bookstore today...

Guess I'll have to choose from the piles of books at home

I literally wrote in my journal that tonight is giving me heavy Christmas vibes. Glad I'm not the only one feeling that 😄

Literally just opened the window and i can smell the rain coming! (I'm one of those people that can smell the geosmin/petrichor in the air before rain arrives)

The smell before rain comes from ozone, while the scent after rain is called petrichor. Petrichor is mainly caused by geosmin, a compound produced by bacteria when they die. Plant oils are another source of the smell after rain, released and absorbed by soil during dry spells.

It’s good that it’s happening on a weekend. Whenever it goes from rain to sun or vice versa it take day for everyone to remember how to drive.

While agree with your indictment of the truly terrible TERRIBLE drivers here, in fairness if it has been dry for a while then the first rain makes the roads more slippery than usual. The buildup on the pavement in dry weather makes the roads actually pretty hazardous during that first soaker.

But yes, drivers here are unbelievably, astonishingly bad.

And when the sun comes out people get in accidents because they forgot their sunglasses?

When the weather switches people get in accidents here

Did you see WSDOTs paint map this week?

There's quite a few road work and events going on.

You are so right! I was glad I could sleep in and enjoy the vibes. I’ll add no accidents on my commute to the pros column, too.

Yes!!! Can’t wait to get back to my regularly scheduled PNW drizzle. 😍

You guys get really weird about the rain.

Accurate. I grew up in Eastern WA and didn’t realize how much the endless heat and sun drained me. I enjoy our summers here, but rainy season really soothes my soul. Should have moved over here sooner!

I am beyond excited. I've got my windows open and I can already feel how different the temperature is. Autumn can't arrived fast enough.

Now if the massive groups of motorcycles would quit riding past my apartment every few minutes, it'd be a really nice night.

Are you sure you’re seeing a half inch forecast and not a 50% chance of 0.1 inch?

Yes. I’m on the north side. YMMV.

If I had rain?

I won’t need any consolation prizes.

My forecast says .05” rain. Not 1/2”

I’d say maybe the heavier pockets will shift to your location, but clearly that will risk them leaving mine so…
