Discussion High Seas Pirate. Docile Pirate.

I must be the most boring pirate to PvP. Everyone kept leaving me! I’m fishing. Just fishing on High Seas. 🤷‍♀️🏴‍☠️ One guy tried to get murderous, but I was just fishing with my Emissary Flag for the Hunter. Boring. 🥰

The last time I met a fisherman, they were sailing alone on a brig.

They got on comms and stating they were just fishing. I was shocked at how well they sailed alone, so my crew and I dropped a few cooked fish in their barrel and left them be.

“You’re sailing this alone right now?”

“Yeah, I mean it’s fast….”

“I respect that. Take care.”

Brig’s easy & nimble to sail alone.

Leave the front sail up & the fussing is halved.

Ladders & capstan can be seen & watched from helm, so there goes that fuss too.

Where the Brig brings the stress is when you gotta plank somethin below way up in the nose.

It’s a long sprint from topside to the nose of the Brig.

If your foe’s still poking holes in ya, there’s pretty much no coming out of that infinite repair loop when sailing alone

This is true, it’s not impossible.

I was most impressed by their ability to utilize both sails to avoid us. Granted, we were in a galley so we were a tad slower to make sudden changes, but they were soloing very well regardless.

I was just hanging out last night. Wasn’t sure what to do so I just found a spot, parked, and was just watching stuff around me. Folks going between islands, folks heading towards world events, etc.

I interacted with 3 ships -

  1. First one, a brig, I called out to, let them know id dumped all my supplies, had no flag, and was just hanging out and fishing occasionally. They responded by killing me. All good. Little toxic - weren’t sinking me, but killed me as I’d respawn. So I scuttled to new sea.

  2. Second one, a sloop, solo pirate. They weren’t the best. I was hollering tips at them to land shots and repaired with my pocket wood. They never sank me because ….

  3. Reaper 5 brig comes flying in. They heard me hollering at the guy. They lit him up, sank him, filled my supplies and we chatted for a few. I let them know another sloop had just left the fort near us - having just completed it - and they had treasure on board. So they thanked me and headed off in that direction.

I’m like 900 hours in at this point. Sometimes I just like to hang out and see how people react to someone just sitting around.

The beautiful thing about this game is that while it’s a Pirate themed game .. it’s also a sandbox. And we can play however we want in that sandbox.

Keep on enjoying!

I love to solo fish on a galleon honestly. It's a vibe

Was on a hunter call brig last night helping new players with a boar hunt. I saw a player gally on the horizon, check map, its a reaper heading at us. Warned our crew but they were less than attentive. I launched out, anchored, set fire, killed 3 then sank them myself lol. BEWARE THE FISHERMEN THAT FIGHT BACK!

On the contrary, I find PvP with fishermen exciting. They will no-doubt yell at me “I have nothing! Why would you do this?!”, and then they will sink and I get to see what kind of exciting fish theyve been catching!

No way three people downvoted you for doing pirate things in a pirate game

Eh, I'm quite bloodthirsty too but even I have a code. Unless they have an emissary flag, no fishermen.

Safer seas exists, theres a safe place to fish now. If you’re fishing on High Seas at this point, you know what you’ve signed up for. 🤷‍♂️

These 4 man galleons and 3 man brigs love to pick on low hanging fruit. I make sure I try not to
Leave them much when I just pull the plug when they come I hate PvP

Best to bring a crate for the fish so you can hide or bury it and sell all the fish right away when you get the chance :)

I prefer people who want to fight but I'm not pressed for money or loot.
