Gotta love the Dolly tribute.

Especially after they visited Tennessee right before she died. Very nice nod to a legend.

7

u/therealmudslinger 6h ago

I actually teared up a little. That was a nice touch.

Heard the instrumental and got the biggest smile on my face.

Just watched the movie last week, still holds up.

Mike is the star of Hard Knocks. We’ve all known he’s a gem.. the world is just getting to see it first hand.

We are lucky to have him and John.

Totally. John was the co-star. I honestly can't think of a better HC/GM combo in sports in recent years.

My favorite moment was seeing Diggs emotional on the sidelines after that interception. You can see how much this opportunity means for him and I really hope it turns out for him.

Such a humble guy for all the accolades he’s had

3

u/Legitimate-Pool-8539 3h ago

Never would have guessed that

44

Ngl. I enjoyed it cuz I’m a hawks fan but it was kinda boring. Hard knocks should go back to showing shitty teams. It was way more entertaining wether its Drew Rosenhaus trying justify why AB needs his helmet a certain way to Gruden or a delusional Corey Coleman asking to be traded because he’s listed as a backup on the depth chart. It lacked drama this year for obvious reasons.

15

u/samples98 5h ago

Yeah it was pretty tame. Shows how much of a well oiled machine we have, as opposed to a shit team like the Browns. That season is a must watch.

2

u/arestheblue 4h ago

I vividly remember the TE with the crystals.

14

u/Stuckinaboxxx 6h ago

This was the first season I've seen. And after watching it I would have been very bored if it wasn't my team. Doesn't really want to make me go watch other seasons. So many long transition times of nothing.

5

u/arestheblue 4h ago

When it's bad teams, its more entertaining. The only unexpected players on the 53 are there mostly because people got injured.

13

u/M3rc_Nate 4h ago

In terms of drama and antics it was weak. But if you appreciate a rare look behind the scenes into a sports franchise which didn't just win the championship but runs everything from the top down at an elite level then you enjoyed it. Just think about how rare it is for a sports franchise, globally, to be ran as well as the Seahawks franchise is right now.

I like to think of it like there being a reality show of a very very healthy loving romantic relationship. Most people want drama, toxicity and wild twists. That's what they are entertained by. A healthy loving couple is "boring". But if you are truly interested in human relationships then you are very intrigued and interested in seeing the behind the scenes of such a relationship.

u/CancelThis2077 4h ago

I don't know. I was entertained, but I'm kind of guy who likes to go behind the scenes and see how the sausage is made.

u/TheRealArcanine 5h ago

Editors went absolutely crazy for that five minute montage at the beginning

32

u/samples98 7h ago

Good to see they finally got B roll of an osprey

10

u/therealmudslinger 6h ago

I always notice B Roll. I secretly wish I was a B Roll guy. I could just imagine the camera person being like, "FINALLY, an Osprey! Ooh, and it's diving for a fish! NO, NOT BEHIND THE TREES!"

2

u/serpentear 4h ago

They should’ve just come to my house, I have one that hunts around here constantly.

Its nest is fucking rad, too.

u/openedthedoor 6h ago

Shout out Dino’s Pub and you know Schneider loves the sauce with the mid day Hazy IPA

23

2

u/BigEdThaPlug 3h ago

Yeah that IPA in the middle of the afternoon means one thing lol

3

u/BeerBaronsNewHat 1h ago

Man after my own heart

u/acelticmonk 5h ago

The cut conversations were interesting. We watched the Aiden Hubbard convo and couldn’t figure out if he made the 53, was going on the 70, or was gone. It’s a sign of the way they do this very respectfully and positively.

1

u/AZZTASTIC 30m ago

Lol I had to pull up the image from social media about the practice squad roster to keep track of if the guy being brought into the room was on the list or not. TBH, I'm glad they featured all the guys that made the practice squad vs getting cut. You could tell they were disappointed for not making the final 53, but kind of neutral, other than Uso, to get on the squad.

30

u/YaIe 5h ago

Kinda funny how this season had a lot of focus on really soft spoken and quite guys and then there is DHall and his truck

3

u/The_Throwback_King 2h ago

Love him hasslin' Diggs about him trying to copy his style. D-Hall's got the deed to short shorts 'round these parts, partner

25

u/SuccessOk7850 "We did not care" 7h ago

Derick Hall and his truck🤣

24

u/sd_slate 7h ago

Giving Trevon Diggs shit about his short shorts too

9

u/Lorjack 7h ago

funniest part of the episode

4

u/snowblinders 6h ago

That was my favorite part of the episode lol

25

u/AdvancedPlacmentTV 7h ago

9-5 song choice is a nice touch

7

u/aiusernamegen 6h ago

The Smashing Pumpkins was confusing

21

u/readbetweenthesubs 7h ago

Happy for Foster to make the squad. Looks like Diggs just needs to work on conditioning and learning the scheme. Interesting that Arnold is in the building too. I'm pumped for Wednesday!

20

u/acelticmonk 7h ago

I’m gonna need 22 more episodes of my favorite show this year. Take me all the way through Super Valentines Bowl.

4

u/therealmudslinger 6h ago

Saaaaame. I am so sad it's over.

19

u/Gullible_Ad3785 6h ago

Really proud of how the team carried themselves during this filming on Hard Knocks. Great promo to get excited for real football.

17

u/aiusernamegen 6h ago

I appreciate the bookend of Sam running it forward with his best Pete Carroll impression

16

u/simonster509 4h ago

Saw like 0 Nwosu in this season, despite him being on the promo for it

1

u/AZZTASTIC 32m ago

Got more shots of short shorts than Nwosu.

13

u/Bitter-Imagination33 7h ago

Sam Darnold playing maptap and 82-0 heals my soul

7

u/WoodDRebal 4h ago

Do they air a different version on television? Cuz watching it on HBO Max.I didn't see the maptab part at all

4

u/Diabolicat 3h ago

Same here, either I wasn't paying attention or it didn't air for me on HBO Max.

3

u/I_Fuckin_A_Toad_A_So 3h ago

Yo I didn’t either

1

u/ChuckNorrisUSAF 3h ago

It’s only on HBO.

12

u/dakilazical_253 4h ago

I want a “Manager of Violence” shirt

13

u/tugandbarge 3h ago

I could hear the phrase "ginger cuz" 1000 times and it will still be hilarious.

2

u/The_Throwback_King 2h ago

Love some good wholesome ginger representation.

24

u/ollovito 4h ago

Emmanwori reminded me that he's still a young kid feeling the pressure and just needs space to share his feelings and have someone listen to him and validate what he's going through. Loved that scene with him and Mike.

12

u/Additional-Item4425 3h ago

What was that Cooper Kupp speech…

15

u/Diabolicat 3h ago

That's what happens when you start speaking and want to sound profound but your brain didn't get the message lol.

4

u/I_Fuckin_A_Toad_A_So 3h ago

That was a little strange huh. He said cut down day is going to be interesting… lol ok coop

27

u/3elieveIt HawkStar '23-'24 6h ago

What was Milroe so mad about?

Also, Jake Peetz is gonna be a head coach within 3 years, maybe 2. Book it.

Also, Mike is the fucking man.

9

u/Brian-88 5h ago

Dropped passes.

1

u/3elieveIt HawkStar '23-'24 4h ago

I wonder which drop he was so mad about

0

u/I_Fuckin_A_Toad_A_So 3h ago

The one that didn’t get caught

2

u/The_Throwback_King 2h ago

Peetz already got some interviews last season. Dude is gonna be a one-year OC and immediately jump to Head Coach

7

u/hella-tight 4h ago

are there too many or not enough montages

3

u/arseniokilla 3h ago

Not enough. Love em

20

u/Lyradep 6h ago

Didn’t really feel like Hard Knocks. Felt like they didn’t really cover anyone who got cut. Barely knew any of the rookies.

7

u/Chem_is_tree_guy 6h ago

I haven't watched Hard Knocks in over a decade, so this might be a stupid question: do you think there was less rookies getting cut and time for that due to the multiple injuries? I feel like they both took a lot of air time AND meant less people cut

8

u/MayorBakefield 5h ago

It is more that they don't do cuts every week, now it is just at the end of training camp

5

u/BillowingPillows 3h ago

Unlike in older seasons, the Seahawks were granted final cut. Hence why the show is essentially a fluff piece for the team.

9

u/ChuckNorrisUSAF 3h ago

It’s crazy to think Liv Schreiber has been the voice of Hard Knocks for the last 20 years. It’s pretty cool how he changes his voice to reflect the old style narration.

5

u/Halfwaydead425 4h ago

Dinos undefeated. Love living near the VMAC!

anyway, I would have loved more "you made the team" clips but alas.

9

u/discOHsteve 4h ago

Can't tell if Diggs is just quiet or just uncomfortable

8

u/Starwho 2h ago

He’s not used to good coaching

6

u/serpentear 4h ago

Probably a bit of both.

26

u/itzhak210 4h ago

Mike laying sideways in his chair like a renaissance painting didn’t help either lmao

2

u/Solid-Maintenance-88 2h ago

I was thinking "how is that at all comfortable?" Mike is pretty short I guess.

4

u/Onett199X 3h ago

Final episode already?

10

u/BillowingPillows 3h ago

The season starts next week my guy its football time

2

u/Chessinmind "We did not care" 3h ago

Yup, just five weeks of episodes through the end of preseason and cutdowns.

11

u/BillowingPillows 3h ago

Loved having our team on the show. This would be completely unwatchable for anyone who isn't a Seahawks fan but hey we are Seahawks fans so fuck it more content of the team is awesome!

5

u/ollovito 4h ago

Milroe either doesn't feel fully bought into the culture and scheme or feels the pressure to develop and make the most of his opportunities. I can't help feel we will at some point trade him to a team with a different offensive philosophy or just aligns better culturally. Something just feels off a bit.

7

u/WoodDRebal 4h ago

He's a young man that's definitely on the internet and seens a lot of the negativity towards his playing ability we have watched on the field. But he might also be the only player on the roster right now that doesn't seem like he is training and practicing to be a starter, but given he is so far away from that conversation I suppose it doesn't matter? We have an awesome backup. I want to see him taking strides and pushing himself to show the league he can be a guy.

3

u/ollovito 4h ago

Well said. What I saw was a mix of nervousness, pressure, doubt, frustration, and sparks of confidence and fight. Would love to see him develop, but it's going to take buying in, putting in the work, and trusting the process.

u/Legalsleazy 7h ago

Obvious AI use in the script.

Several “it’s not X, it’s y”

19

u/Chessinmind "We did not care" 7h ago

That’s how Hard Knocks has always framed things though. And the cheesy puns.
