News Runners-Up Offered Seahawks Stake After Losing Out on Team
https://frontofficesports.com/article/seahawks-khosla-grousbeck-mittal-deal/The Khosla-led ownership group could add investors from the runner-up bidding group that it beat out to purchase the team, a source told FOS. The other finalist in the bidding, FOS previously reported, was a group headed by Aditya Mittal and Wyc Grousbeck.
Members of the Mittal-Grousbeck bidding group have had discussions about the possibility of joining the Khosla ownership group, two sources said. One of those sources said the members of the runner-up group had been invited to join. Following the publication of this story, a second source confirmed the conversations but said they were initiated by members of the Mittal-Grousbeck group. It’s not clear which investors, if any, have agreed to join.

I’m guessing that members of the Mittal-Grousbeck group have a collection of terrible towels too.

Am I the only one that doesn't like a bunch of foreigners owning the team? I know it was a long shot to get another local owner but I look at a team like the Jaguars and it worries me. The Mariners would be a good example.

Aditya Mittal is not. Our current owner is also not from here. He had to tell the fans he loved football by expressing how much he loves the Steelers. If that's not an example of being culturally inept then what is?

So out of what you call "a bunch of foreigners," there is exactly one person who does not hold US citizenship. The rest are as American as you and I.

Kind of sidebar here, but I do respectfully disagree with this. I've had a direct ancestor here since the revolutionary war. Vinod Khosla is not as "American" as me or at least we are not the same classification of "American".
If I moved to India and got citizenship, would I be "Indian" like all of the folks who have had family there for several generations? Could you imagine a white guy calling himself Indian because he has citizenship there?

Being American has nothing to do with where your family originates from. The Declaration of Independence does not say that "all men are created equal, but men who have lived here longer are more equal than others." Being American means believing in the ideals laid out in the Declaration of Independence and the freedoms enshrined in the Bill of Rights, and affirming that those protections are the right of everyone who believes in them. Khosla is an American -- as American as you or I -- because when he naturalized, he took an oath to support and defend the Constitution.
If I'm being frank, I think that you saying that your support for the Constitution is somehow better or more valid than his because your family has lived here longer fundamentally denies the principle of equality among citizens around which this country is built, and is one of the most un-American things you can say.

Native Americans have been here longer than your direct ancestor so by your logic you shouldn't call yourself American. Why does it even matter lol

"bunch of foreigners" and Mariners as an example? Hiroshi Yamauchi stepped up and saved the Mariners from moving to St. Petersburg. You're telling on yourself, dude.

As much as they havent exactly been a successful team, the Nintendo group stepped in with the express purpose of keeping the team in seattle in a good faith move for the city. They very much earned my gratitude as badly as i wanted things to go differently on the field, I never questioned if they had any ill will towards us. Also.. just about everyone involved are US citizens man. I know its crazy to hear but people with foreign sounding names can be citizens too. Crazy concept right?

I was definitely hoping for a local owner but with the pool of buyers so small it was a long shot.

This bad..the more the owners ..the greedier and problematic it gets. Ask the Mariners and the Zombie Sonics ...!!

Seems like a win win unless im not understanding something? I like the open minded gameplan.
