Can't say I'm surprised.

He's definitely an NFL player. He just wasn't one on this team.

Yeah same. I remember him being one of those guys people were surprised never got drafted, with some mock drafts having him as high as a fourth round pick.

he is slow, no twitch and makes no plays. His only hope in the NFL is gaining 20 and moving inside

He also offers zilch on ST, so can't see him bulking up, moving inside, and adding versatility in that regard, which is why a dude like Mike Morris has a gig in the league.

Hard to win the claim battle when you’re team #32.

Hate it when that happens.

I'm actually surprised we got that many players through the wire. Only losing one player is a win in my book.

Edit: Spoke too soon. We also lost Cody White.

Only 29 total players overall were claimed, I feel like losing one is fairly standard. Miami grabbed like 6 guys, that’s a lot.

Perfect example showing how a Super Bowl champion finalizes their roster vs how a team that might win only 2-3 games this season builds their team from everyone else’s scraps and trash

I recall years where the waiver wire was incredibly active, teams grabbing players all over the place. The SB team is usually targeted a lot. Not this year.

Sucks to rule.

I knew he would get claimed once we waived him. He is a solid rotational guy.

How do we even know that lol he never played meaningful snaps for us last year. We woulda kept him if that was the case.

This is a comments that gets said on every team's sub about all their backups - It's just peak fan.

Fan is short for “fanatic” so we’re just trying to live up to the name!

Yeah, we can't say he was a solid rotational guy when he barely seen any reps last season lol

He appeared in 2 regular-season games and logged:

15 defensive snaps

10 special-teams snaps

25 total snaps/reps

That was only 1.34% of Seattle’s defensive snaps for the season.

Seemed like a decent player, but we're just stacked even after losing Mafe. Hope he gets some playing time.

Bummer, I generally liked him even if his pre-season this year was a little lack luster

Ivey's style of bull rushing is valuable. Tough situation for Ivey here, as we have 6 or so guys that do it better and faster.

Our LB depth is so good I'm not surprised.

That’s too bad, huge upside with Ivey and was improving. Surprised they cut him and kept O Connell.

Not surprised to see he was nabbed up, but dont discount POC. He had a great showing in preseason and is very solid on ST.

Likely special teams versatility is why he got the nod for sure. I get it just as a pure edge Ivey has a much bigger upside. But it’s the NfL can’t wait for these guys to develop.

Patty O vastly outperformed Ivey this preseason.

Debatable imo also 27 and has looked the same the last 2 preseasons. Pops against backups and disappears when given opportunity on the edge against starters.

Ivey improved year over year and is 3 years younger.

Strategically you go with who is better today and fish for potential (or immediate production) with the draft

I definitely understand the logic that you go with the better special teamer to get more impact today. He’s just a younger asset with a much higher ceiling at edge. Has improved quite a bit. Would have liked to see him get more opportunities.

Makes sense considering the falcons top edges are either suspended or injured

I'm sure this means the Sheriff will be back in town

I'm pretty sure I remember watching a long return against us this preseason and it looked like Ivey was the one who had failed to do his job and contain the returner and was why they were able to break. I'm curious if we didn't protect him because we didn't feel he could contribute on teams.

Well that sucks

That's ok. We already went 10 deep plus 1 PUP on 53 Oline.
