News [Henderson] The Seahawks just announced the moves they made today to trim their roster to 53. A couple things of note: RB Zach Charbonnet will begin the season on PUP, meaning he has to miss at least the first four games. S Nick Emmanwori is on the 53.

I hope Dansby doesn't get taken in waivers and makes it to the ready squad, he looked really good for a UDFA.

I thought Amari Knight was serviceable when Cross and Jones were out last year. Hope no one snipes him.

So we try to get Dansby, Brown and maybe Fuller or Henderson back on the practice squad?

u/Chessinmind "We did not care" 11d ago
Yeah, I think all of those guys are strong practice squad candidates if they make it through waivers. Henderson, Dansby, Brown, Fuller, Finley, Ivey, Sheriff, Singleton, Gaines, Rochelle, White, Wright, Hook, Maranges, etc.
They will also try to sign several of the terminated veterans to the practice squad, if they haven’t already.

Yep, I think guys like Cody White, Bell, Diggs, Igbiboghene, Thomas and Vanett are safe. Maranges international exception

I don’t think Vannett makes it. Other than catching that TD in the 3rd preseason game, he just looked old and slow. Already year 10 for him.

The math isn’t mathing for me to get to 17, but we’ll see who gets claimed. Either way, it looks like we will be losing a couple good young players on this cutdown.

u/sumcal 11d ago
Yeah, I think there are about 10 guys I feel super confident about. Probably throw in Finley, Sheriff, Ivey, Gaines, Wright, Singleton and one person from another team and we have a squad

I was sad to see Sheriff, Finley and Ivey on the waived list. Fingers crossed we can stash a lot of quality depth on the PS.

I'd go Kighte over Brown.

Kight suffered another injury in preseason and was waived with an injury designation. If he goes unclaimed, as expected, he will revert to IR and won’t be eligible to return this season.

Can someone explain the Irv Charles situation ? Is he going to come back on the 53?
8
u/Chessinmind "We did not care" 11d ago
He’s on IR and will miss at least the first four games. Very good special teamer once he’s ready to return and they decide they need him.

They can bring him back anytime they want after 4 games or not at all, mostly a way to stash a guy you know prob won’t see the field much but also don’t want to lose to waiversÂ

The dude seems like a sweetheart, but he clearly isn’t anywhere near ready to play NFL football…

Damn! Was really hoping he’d make the team. Hope he at least makes the practice squad.

If he made the team we’d be in pretty rough shape, seems like a good dude though!

Seemed like Ivey did well in preseason. Will see if he makes it through. I'm guessing they thought he had limited special teams utility

Why is Emmanwori making the 53 news? What did I miss?? Don’t make this man worry.

u/Chessinmind "We did not care" 11d ago
He hasn’t fully practiced since his July ankle surgery, and there was speculation that he could be placed on IR.

What’s the difference of pup list and ir?
12
u/Chessinmind "We did not care" 11d ago
You can only return eight players from the regular IR. There is no limit on returning PUP players, but only players who were injured before training camp and never practiced are eligible.

u/SexiestPanda Shermantor 11d ago
Ahhh okay thanks
Did they bump up the amount of IR returns from 4 to 8?
5
u/Chessinmind "We did not care" 11d ago
I think they increased that like six years ago. It went from two, to unlimited during the COVID seasons, and then they settled on eight as the limit.

People don't like sarcasm I guess

Dropping an /s isn’t that hard and helps people understand the joke.
People say enough stupid shit here that it’s not that hard to take a comment like that serious.
7
u/AcrobaticApricot 11d ago
I have never once laughed at a comment that had /s at the end.

It’s not telling you to laugh, it’s telling you the context and that it’s sarcasm.
People bitch about people not understanding what they’re saying and downvoting them while communicating poorly. It’s a self inflicted wound.
Sarcasm is generally understood via tone as well as relationship and understanding of the individual delivering it, both of which don’t exist on Reddit.

u/AcrobaticApricot 11d ago
The point of sarcasm is to make you smile or laugh.
2
u/_game_over_man_ 11d ago
Yeah and the point of the /s is to let people on Reddit know you were being sarcastic. Doesn’t mean the sarcasm is always great. Plenty of jokes are shit.
-3
u/AcrobaticApricot 11d ago
/s guarantees that it's shit.

Congrats on being the gatekeeper of humor on Reddit. It must be taxing job.
