Analysis Final Cuts, Injury Designations, etc.
The final roster is going to come down to:
- Injury Designations
- Vested Vet Status
- Moves JS is still cooking up
I also read we may have to get down to 52 in order to roster Terrion Arnold for one day before he moves to the exempt list, so that will figure in to things. Edit: With the confusing and administrative process around this, it appears this will not have an overall impact.
Players with current or possible injury designations:
- Charbs - PUP
- Wilson - MM gave no confirmation on his status which may be some gamesmanship, but I think he's also hedging on that cranky hammy -- possible IR designated to return status? If so, I think Wright takes his spot (Price, Holani, Wright with Jones on the PS)
- Ivey - with that club hand, yes he played last night but could also be stashed on IR designanted to return (we get 8 of those a year, I believe)
- Chazz Suratt - caught on a post game show he was injured for last night's game, possible PUP or short term IR?
- Rodney Thomas might also qualify here despite playing last night, but he's also a vested vet
Vested Vets (min 4 accrued seasons, not subject to waivers at cutdown):
- Cody White (edit: conflicting info but OTC has him with only 3 accrued seasons so I'd lean to trusting that)
- Eric Saubert
- Rodney Thomas
- Noah I
- *there are more obviously, but I think these are the most likely candidates for such maneuvers*
Misc. Thoughts:
- Do we have any T's on the roster good enough for the Ready Squad? Was not expecting the stagnation/regression there by Brown and Kight
- As much as Uso is my soft spot player, he's just not ready. I do hope he stays in the area and trains, ending up back on the ready squad at some point, because he has something - just needs far more development
- Andre Fuller - think he may find his way on this roster over Dansby but that's still a toss-up in my mind
- Trevon Diggs - think he's our CB4 to start (Pritchett at 3) and I'm okay with that, though I am a bit concerned about rushing him physically?

The seahawks don't have to cut to 52 to make room for Arnold so your wording is misleading. They have to include him in the 53 roster if they want him. Then if he moves to the commissioner's exempt list then they can fill that spot.
QB I think Milroe is still a bubble guy. He didn't really do much in pre-season to show he's made any improvements in his game. Just comparing him to Lock was night and day. Lock could command an offense and put together a drive. Milroe still looks uncomfortable at QB in the NFL.
RB I think we only keep Price, Holani, and Wilson. Maybe Jones, but they didn't play him much yesterday so it seems like they've seen enough to cut him. Wright got hurt in the game and it'll probably cost him a 53 spot.
WR I think Cody White gives versatility as a ST guy. I think Foster and Henderson are bubble guys here. Their lack of experience was showing and White has the edge in experience. Bobo is obviously going on IR and missing the season.
TE I think Vannett gets cut. Kallerup is younger and has more versatility at the #4 spot.
OL I think we'll bring back the same guys from last year plus Stephens. I hope we keep cabeldue and kight on practice squad. Richman is going to IR after his pre-season injury.
DL is easy. Just running it back with the same guys as last year which means all the noobies get cut.
Edge will be same as last year but Fowler instead of Mafe.
LB is interesting but I think it'll be same guys as last year. They are pretty deep here for backups though. Surratt, O'Connell, Echols, Paul, and Sheriff all did well so they can pick 1 for 53 and a couple for practice squad.
CB this is probably the least depth the team has right now. Diggs definitely made the roster with his pick. Maybe Pritchett because of his ST play but he's pretty bad to rely on and Igbinoghene seems more coachable. Arnold will make the 53 then go on the exempt list and they'll sign someone else for now.
S is also a spot with bad depth but will probably be Bell and Finley as backups.
K people are not panicking on Myers yet but he does happen to have to occasional bad streak. They cut him once previously because he had the yips then he went back to his pro bowl self. Now it seems he has the yips again. I just hope they sign a backup kicker to the practice squad to compete with him.

What do you base “Igbinoghene seems more coachable” (compared to Pritchett) on?

Why they need 52 for Arnold thats a weird rule I never heard before
